I had a 20.00 gift card from a student, and so i just placed an order for the arancini, just to use the gift card up, and as a resident of Wakefield, was curious how this place was. The arancinis was basically white rice only, wrapped in bread crumbs. I have had arancinis from several places and they have been delicious and tasty, but these were really bland and terrible. I feel bad saying that and I honestly do not write reviews, but to pay 14.00 for 2 small balls of rice with no flavor, just irritated me. The rest of their menu might be great, and I hope it is, but from 1 person making their first order because of a gift card from a student, and having these arancinis that were so bland, small and tasteless, like basically a ball of just white rice, and for 14.00, was just such a bummer. Maybe the rest of the food is good, but I had to write about this because it was my 1st exprience and was excited to get some arancinis for free, but it was just a bummer that we couldnt enjoy them, as again, no flavor or added good stuff, just a ball of bland white rice. I dont really want to place any stars as I only got the rice balls, so not fair to place a rating on everything else, but I am being forced to place a star, so will give 1 star on my exprience as far as the rice balls, but no more star ratings on anything else

First time at Tonno in Wakefield. It was fine, but you can certainly do better. The atmosphere was casual, it had and under the sea theme going on. For my $200.00 I think I'd rather go elsewhere. The food was underseasoned, but the portions were huge - so from that standpoint you'll feel good about the coin dropped for an average dining experience. From a normal guy that knows little about.. Well anything... I likely won't be back, but it's close to my neighborhood so I probably will.

Had my first visit to Tonno and was really impressed. It’s not a cheap menu but the service, decor and food matched well with the pricing. Fine dining with a great wine selection.

My husband and I came to Tonno tonight to have dinner at the bar. I spotted two empty seats and went to sit down, as the bar is first come first serve per the host. A dark haired female bartender asked if we would be eating dinner, when I replied “yes” she said.. I have people coming for these seats in 10 minutes. Basically saying we could not sit, and proceeded to place two mats down for the other guests. As a restaurant manager myself, I was horrified by this treatment. As someone who loves to go to Tonno, I will not be sitting at the bar again after this encounter.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner here! We decided to order lots of the appetizers to have as our main course instead. We got the shrimp scampi, mussels (my FAV), octopus, and crabcake! We also ordered a side of potatoes (delish) and we would order everything again except for the crabcake. I’m from Maryland, so I like more chunky crabmeat in my crab cakes ?.We also got tiramisu for dessert. Everything was great! I’m sure we will be back again.
Went last night and everything was delicious! We got the octopus appetizer, cioppino, chicken milanese, a dirty martini and white cosmo! Jill, our server was so attentive and friendly!!
We did taquilla tasting here and food was incredible and we plan on

Our Saturday night experience at Tonno was nothing short of fantastic. Securing 2 seats at the bar, we were warmly welcomed by the bartender, Andrea, whose infectious smile and amiable demeanor set the tone for the night. Her extensive knowledge of the menu and drinks added a personal touch to our visit. For appetizers, we indulged in the burrata and tuna tartar, both which were exquisitely prepared and delicious. For main courses, we had the Bolognese and veal parmigiana. Both dishes were exceptional in taste and presentation. However, what truly made our night remarkable was Andrea's impeccable service. She also treated us to a couple of cannolis that were the perfect way to cap the night.

Service was accommodating and friendly, nice atmosphere if a bit louder than average. The server had difficulty hearing one of my table’s order and had to re-fire a couple of times. The appetizers were flavorful and well-executed. (we had the meatball, arancini, calamari, and sausage flatbread)The generously-portioned tagliatelle bolognese was tasty and had a nice presentation; some strands stuck together in a clump but still edible.Overall, the service was the highlight, atmosphere was energetic, and the food was classic. Nothing to really rave about but could be a convenient meal if you’re doing something or live nearby.
