I like this place. My husband and I went there for Valentine's Day. They were super busy. We made a reservation for a table online, however, when we came in our table was not ready because they were too busy. And then they had a line after us. But the manager somehow resolved the situation and we did not wait for so long. The service was great, and our server was nice. We ordered some meat and meatballs that we never tried before. The meatballs were supposed to be varied, however, it tasted all the same in my and my husband's opinion. It was not an issue. Everything was great. We had a great time and enjoyed the food.

TLDR: great addition to Boston hot pot scene Inside is new and fresh and there's plenty of delicious options to try with the hotpot. Drink menu looks solid. Portions could be larger but for a new restaurant it makes sense. Love this addition to Moody street!

The food was fresh and good. But not the hot pot experience I was expecting. Most things were ala carte so you were charged for each type of veggie you chose. Restaurant was clean and nicely set up, but one pot for the entire table was hard to reach and I had to keep standing up

We are at this restaurant last evening. We found the food to be outstanding. The waitress provided great service and was wonderful. 5 Star Restaurant. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful addition to the restaurant-rich Moody St in Waltham! We tried the pork and lamb sets, both in the house broth. Absolutely delicious! And given the very generous servings (including a large variety of vegetables), we were in no need for appetizer or dessert. It was a cold and wet night, so we opted for the hot sake. Next time, we'll try one of the many premium sakes. The service was top-notch. Catalina was happy to educate us about the finer points of Japanese Shabu-Shabu style eating. They also have an impressive selection of Japanese whiskey, which I'll definitely try on future visits.

Today we had the great experience of trying this format of Asian food and it took me by surprise; since it exceeded my expectations. The whole family went, we were 10 people including the children and there was also a menu for them. I highlight Catalina's attention, a 10 for her, her dedication where she took care of every detail of us. The comfort of the restaurant and its format make it a luxury and elite place. The fact that you can cook yourself makes it a different moment and one wanting to know more. Everything is fresh and with a unique flavor, the vegetables, meats and broth are great tasting. I recommend my Zombie Mody cocktail. This is a super recommended place in Waltham.100 out of 100.Wheelchair accessibility: I saw a person in a wheelchair eating very comfortably.

The hot pot restaurant was exceptionally clean, and the broth was delicious, complementing the stuffing perfectly. I ordered for half kimchi and half house broth. The servers were very pleasant, and the prices were reasonable. I ordered a set of beef, which came with a small vegetable plate and choice of noodle or rice. Beef was good quality, and I wish they had a bit more vegetables, such as cabbage, bok choy, or watercress. It's a great find in the greater Boston area, and I'm thrilled that they opened in Waltham. There aren't many Asian restaurants in Waltham, and this is definitely a great addition.

A true hidden gem! From the delectable gyoza to a variety of vegetables, seafood, and meat – each dish is a delight. The broth is absolutely outstanding -we got the mushroom and tomato veggie-. Despite being in its soft opening phase, the experience was truly mouthwatering. Definitely planning to return.Dietary restrictions: They accommodated every food restriction.Parking: Public parking one block away, easy to park

Been to many Hot Pot/Shabu places throughout the Boston area…very glad to have found Shiki! Don’t have to deal with Boston traffic/parking and there’s a huge adjacent lot behind Moody Street. The room is new and inviting - with enough seats for ambiance but not so many that it feels over crowded. The service was attentive and we never felt neglected. The food was fresh, presented well, fairly priced, and most importantly….delicious! Will definitely be back again!

First of all I'm half Asian, so I have eaten enough hotpot in my life to be the judge. A preview to my later essay: don't come. The soup is decent and price (for the soup only) is actually affordable. The meat and vegetables are okay in terms of freshness, but the portion is PATHETIC. if you ordered the prime beef, which is somewhere priced between 18-23, you literally got no more than 6-8 pieces of tiny thin-cut beef slice, I dunno how other customer feel about that, but you could literally walk into any other hotpot place and get a full plate of meat for something around 30. For more reference, two of us ordered two plates of meat (1 of it is a set so it comes with veggies and a small bowl of noodle and the soup), a plate of beef tongue, and another vegetable, our bill went up to $100, and we weren't even close to feeling full when left. The environment is okay for a casual dining. But I expect larger portion for a $50 per person in waltham. Service is okay, nothing to complain here. Just don't come. I paid $100 to give you my genuine advice here.
