This spot has fantastic service as well as enjoyable meals. My favourite spot in the area. The food and drinks came out rapidly and the rates were economical. Recommended.

I have been a long-time diner at The Talk and have always had a pleasant meal. That all changed last night. With only one waiter covering the dining room, the function space (with at least 20 diners) and the bar, service was excruciatingly slow. The poor waiter has worked there for a while and he truly tried but was overwhelmed. A table of 2 left after being given their menus and then ignored for 30 minutes. The Arancini app looked somewhat like a round ball but didn't quite make it. My lemon chicken, which I have ordered often, was in a dark brown sauce that looked like mud. My co-diner ordered the blackened salmon and said it was terribly dry. Come to find out the chef did not show up so they had to rent-a-chef for the day. A worker from the kitchen cleared out dishes agreed with us that they should not have opened. It was a huge disappointment and I will think twice about going back - it's tough when you lose a neighborhood favorite. However, I have noticed on Yelp that reviews of late have been awful - I hope the owner heeds the warning from customers and turns things around.

We ordered a takeout. The food is delicious. The place had live music too. I would definitely go there again!!

Went with my partner for the first time on a Friday evening and overall it was just OK. We probably won’t go back even though we live within walking distance because it just didn’t seem worth the prices. When going to a new restaurant, my partner always asks what dishes are really popular or what they are known for. At a somewhat upscale restaurant like The Talk (white tablecloths, cloth napkins, real candles etc) the wait staff should be able to provide an answer. What we got was “well there’s a new chef; the old chef did great parmesans; the seafood is fresh.” That came across as “the jury is still out on this chef”. The waitress didn’t tell us there were specials until we were ready to order. No one refilled our water the whole time. My partner had the broiled scrod which he said was very good. I had the Chicken D’Andrea which was OK - the breaded chicken was overcooked and tough. On a positive note, the bread and dipping oil were good. We had made reservations although didn’t need them - the place was not busy at all.

Went on a Friday night specifically for prime rib (it’s on their full-time menu Sept-March, they have it every Friday and Saturday) and they were out of it... at 6:30 PM! BAH!

I've been here many times in the past. The food isn't memorable, but it was alright. Recently I decided to stop by and was greeted by a 2 hosts, a man and women who did not give me friendly vibes. This place was absolutely dead, maybe 3 customers total. For you to tell a host, "table for 2 please" and for the male to look you in the eyes and walk away without saying anything is absolutely weird. Upon this interaction I decided to think about whether I even wanted to eat here. In that 3-5 seconds, I hear the female hostess rudely ask "did you want to sit or not", and at that point I decided to walk out. In the background I hear "what just happened". What happened was the interaction wasn't inviting and I decided to not spend my money here. I will likely not come back, but hey maybe I'll give it a shot sometime in the future.

I've gone here for years and loved it. Slightly high prices but a good restaurant, with great food and friendly staff. I heard the original owners have recently sold it, and my last 3 visits have been terrible. The old bartenders were fantastic friendly but not in your face, the new bartender obviously did not know how to shake and pour a martini and was way too "in our space". Quality and presentation of food has also gone down hill which is a huge disappointment.

We had a date there on Friday night and in the middle of our meal when we just ordered second round of drinks, the stuff started kicking us out totally ruining our experience. We said we will finish the drinks and leave but they turned the lights on everywhere so we just got up and left. Though atmosphere is nice, the stuff is very unfriendly. Will not come back for sure.

The warm bread and oil is fantastic. Best mussels I've ever had. Awesome service. I cannot wait to go back.

The visit was good. We have been here many times and are sorry that the restaurant has been sold. They were out of two of the entrees that we wanted and out of all but one draft beer. There is hope. The new owner did manage to stop by and give us one of the dishes that we wanted as a side. The service was good but very slow.

Our server was wonderful and everything came out hot and tasted great. Their website didn't list the main 'entrees' but the menu had a lot to offer!

I ordered the eggplant parmigiana which was delicious. The waitress was very attentive and provided great service.
