Food is the best Chinese food I've ever had. Crab rangoons are amazing. I usually order: orange chicken; chicken lo mein, pork fried rice, Hot and sour soup (which at most places is disgusting and has a jelly like texture) not this place and it's spicy. they are also so nice here great service. I've only ever ordered takeout but it's usually always busy when I've been there to pick up. Good ambience.

The Great Wok is Best in Wellesley without a doubt. They’re a star in the overall area for anything Chinese/Japanese inspired & their bar is top notch. Just fantastic. This restaurant has been under new ownership for about 1 year. Since converting to “The Great Wok” from their former name “The Wok”, offerings of food, drinks, and ambiance have significantly increased. Chef Bruce is a legend in the industry with 25 years of experience. “Great” is an excellent addition to the name and rightfully deserved. In case you did not know, they now offer a solid sushi menu. Like many other customers at The Great Wok, you are sure to come back often. I will post some photos of dishes I have enjoyed and I’m always open to make a recommendation. Hats off to this location.

Very pleasant experience; three diners very happy with their selections but one with a udon soup thought it lacked flavor and was very bland.

My wife, daughter and I went to the Great Wok for lunch on Christmas Day. We ordered several items. Including Hot and Sour that was one of the best I've ever had with plenty in it, my wife ordered a heaping (Vat like) bowl of Angel hair soup with Chicken and vegetables which was in a clear broth there was no skimping of items in it. After that my wife ordered Maki California rolls which met what she was looking to have. I ordered additionally for my daughter and I crispy chicken wings that they gave 4 huge and tasty ones with hot and also sweet and sour sauce. Also I ordered BBQ'd Spareribs that looked charred but were actually meaty and also very tasty. Finally I ordered Kung Pao Chicken with peanuts which had plenty of Chicken, vegetables this also came out hot and with plenty of flavor. One thing not mentioned earlier is soon after giving our order the waitress came out to advise there would be about a 20 minute delay as the gas went out. Since we did not want to travel far and did not have anywhere to go we stayed and they were correct in the estimate of the repair and soon after our food came out. After getting what we ordered unexpectedly I believe an owner came out with a scallion pancake on the house when we did not have any complaints. Both the food and the service will definitely have me coming back to this restaurant in the future.

I've only had take-out from here. So I can't completely review it properly. That being said, the food is delicious!!! Very close to the old Chinatown in Boston. Authentic noodles for the appropriate dishes, fresh veggies, and very authentic flavorings!Just delicious.

The moment I bit into the complimentary Crab Rangoon, I could tell something was different about this place. Easily the best Americanized Chinese food I’ve had in MA.Ordered some chicken dish with vegetables. Chicken was tender and vegetables were just the perfect balance between soft with texture. Sauce was also not overbearing with oil or too salty. My friend got the black pepper Beef and he really enjoyed it too. We were both pleasantly surprised. Will be back again soon

Not really old school and not really authentic; kind of a middle ground but done well for what it is. Lunch specials (combos) available Monday thru Saturday. Japanese as well as Chinese, but I stick to the Chinese (and, unfortunately, it sticks to me). Hot & Sour Soup: Well above average; full bodied and perfectly spiced. Egg Roll: Excellent pork and cabbage rendition probably made on the premises. Crisp, moist to juicy, and very fresh. Among the best. Beef Teriyaki: Five sticks, all meaty, dark, and well lubed. You could almost tell the texture from the visual, but the texture was even better. Just a hint of pull, but mostly very tender. Flavor was both sweet and savory with a tingly spice element adding to the experience. Very aromatic. Elite beef teriyaki and among the top few I've ever had. Spareribs on the Bone: Very big, very red, very juicy. Interesting that with all that red coating, even on the cross sections, flavor didn't match the wonderful texture. I had no complaints with these ribs, but I was guessing elite and they were "only" very good. Pork Fried Rice: Not light of color, but felt light, more like a Mexican rice texturewise. Not dry but leaning toward it. The plentiful additions of pork, onion, egg, peas, and carrots helped out the cause. Orange Chicken: Somewhat crisp, somewhat sweet. Less impressive than the apps but decent enough.
