They do dollar oysters every day until 5:30pm, which is hard to find these days. It's the best deal in town! We also love the poutine and there's usually a few great local/seasonal beers on draft. “Well what can I say. I love the sandwiches but I’m always so annoyed when I have to physically take the TAIL of the shrimp off of my sandwich. I have been buying these shrimp and fish sandwiches for YEARS. I took a break and bought my first shrimp sandwich of 2024 this week and AGAIN.. they fry the whole shrimp with the tail on. I understand it’s for flavor but it’s sitting in the middle of the sandwich. The sandwich is so good. Please for the sake of the people (i almost choked this last time cause I forgot they left the tail on) TAKE THE TAIL OUT OF THE SANDWICH. Unless shrimp tails are now edible?“

We ordered 5 different entrees along with appetizers and drinks. We would highly recommend the General Gau's Chicken, Beef with Fresh Mushrooms ,Shrimp with Fresh Mango, Kung Pao Chicken and the Shanghai Chowmein. For appetizers we would highly recommend the very unique and awesome Steamed Soup Dumplings. Our server Jonny was the best very knowledgeable had great recommendations, so funny, kept checking on us, focused on our needs and was so genuine & kind. We must say he was a blessing. ? “This review for the donuts. Omg I’ve had donuts in so many states across the country and Brassica’s is by far the best. The flavors are so well executed, unique and complex on the palate. The guava crème fraiche might be my current favorite, but the passion fruit is a close second. If you don’t have a sweet tooth like me, these donuts will really do it for you because they don’t use a traditional sugar glaze like literally every other donut shop. They’re fluffy yeast donuts with a glaze that’s more the consistency of jam and icing. 10/10 run don’t walk.“

The are not stingy with vegetables, which I appreciated. Only dinged because it was nearly impossible to have access to our wait staff during the meal due to the business. Next thing we know we’re getting a call after 45 minutes!The restaurant is small inside, a bit crowded, packed with everyone else who saw the NY Times article. The food was high quality and creative. Pasta dishes were somewhat small but this is expected with the traditional Italian format of the menu. The service was exceptionally attentive as well. Unless you are a local I am not sure you’d stumble upon it as it’s hidden on a odd side street off route 16. And that is a SHAME because this place is really good!!! First of all the ambience and decor is so cozy and represents Peru really nicely but not in a fake overstated way. Our server was a young guy who was really nice and once he heard my husband and I speaking Spanish proceeded to serve us in Spanish the rest of the dinner which really felt very welcoming, he had a great vibe and gave us recommendations on the menu since it was our first time.They have SEVERAL Peruvian beers which was really cool, my husband tried a quinoa beer that he liked a lot.We got the ceviche del día which has a mix of seafood. So flavorful and amazing, as Peruvian ceviche always is.We got a specials menu sandwich with chicharrón, sweet potato, pickled onion, and mint that was so freaking delicious. The bread was insanely good, and the chicharrón was soooo crispy on the outside yet not impossible to chew as it sometimes can be if not done right.We also got the ahí de gallina which was very flavorful, I think it was my least favorite because it’s sort of a simple dish and I like things with lots of different elements and textures, but I wanted to try this Peruvian classic and I don’t regret it!Parking: You can park outside of the restaurant where there are signs that say Tambo 22 parking. “Decided to walk through Allston on a grody, misty afternoon and look for some food. Walked in by chance and at my SO’s insistence that we give it a look. I loved everything about the aesthetic, and enjoyed the soft music playing in the background. Being able to choose the ingredients I wanted - knowing they were organic and that they looked more than delicious raw...that was the absolute best part. The gentleman at the front was supremely helpful and answered any question thrown at him - by anyone in the shop. The price was more than worth the amount of food received, and the care extended to us as guests was wonderful. I absolutely would recommend anyone to give this a try.
