Pluses and Minuses for New York Deli.Owner is Super Nice and a lot of the food including French bread is made in house. The first time I was here I had what I think was called a Thanksgiving sandwich It was excellent. The bread was fresh and made in house The turkey seemed carved and it had just the right amount of everything. The second time coming I was a little disappointed. I ordered what is my benchmark sandwich for any place that calls themselves a deli, a Rueben. It was a bit underwhelming. Traditionally a Rueben is made on Dark rye. I don't really mind it being on light rye it just changes the flavor. But that wasn't the bad part of the Reuben. If you're going to make a Reuben do not use boar's Head corned beef. It's not real Jewish corned beef and any New Yorker would be upset that you tried to pass off a Reuben with it. If you are going to try and use boar's Head corned beef you have to slice it so thin that you can see through it. A Rueben is also a grilled sandwich not a panini sandwich. So when it is grilled it should be buttered and the cheese should be melted and the corned beef warm, neither of these happened. That being said I just ordered the wrong sandwich My previous sandwich was excellent. I should have asked about the corned beef if it was fresh or if it was from boar's Head or some other pre-made company. I did see that they have a Cuban on the menu which is another sandwich that I try to see how close they can get it. for the next time......

I visited NY Deli and was pleased by the true New York deli shop flair. The pleasant service gave a welcoming element to the encounter. The breakfast choices were varied, and the Italian lunch alternatives were a pleasant surprise. The range of liquids, particularly coffee, caters to diverse tastes. Whether you choose to eat in or take it out, the options are convenient. If you happen to meet Andy, the encounter becomes even more delightful, as his kind personality adds to the whole environment.

I'm so happy I discovered this deli! A true deli in every sense of the word. Reasonable prices, substantial sandwiches. Fresh bread, friendly staff. NY ambience. Definitely will return!
Everything I’ve tried here is excellent and there’s so many options for lunch, sides, drinks, sweets, etc (and I’ve heard good things about their breakfast sandwiches too). Everyone is very nice there as well :)

a damn fine breakfast. Andy the owner greeted us, let us mull over the menu, and gave some of his own suggestions. we ended up getting breakfast sandwiches. they were perfect. he sent them out with a coconut curry and a lentil dip. I've never had anything like it before but it was PERFECT. who would have thought coconut curry would go so well with an egg sandwich. I'll be back!!!
