We had so much fun at our tasting yesterday! John and Julie were so personable and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious too - I think the brisket was our favorite. Super delicious and we look forward to sharing their food at our wedding.

We were working with John on a potential wedding catering estimate. He was very patient and encouraging throughout the communication process, from menu building to the tasting. In fact, the tasting experience with John and Julie was exceptional! They pulled out all of the stops and made a significant impression with their attention to detail. In an early phone call we had with John, he mentioned that he focuses on his food quality, and insists that that be the focus of his attention and services - doing food well! And to that end, we really enjoyed the food and hospitality! However, we ultimately struggled to fill in all of the other services we would need to arrange with outside sources. The more we made those calls and got other quotes, the more we struggled. Because we genuinely loved Tailgate Gourmet's food and style, but we had an alternative that could manage several other aspects of supplies and service, in a similar price range after accounting for those needs. So we went the direction of simplicity. But I wouldn't hesitate to use John if your venue or other vendors can cover your setup, teardown, linens, bar service, etc! The food to price point offers a great value and budget friendly alternative to some of the ridiculous estimates other vendors offered.

My fiancé, his parents, and I were treated to the most amazing tasting a week ago at John's kitchen. We were delighted by the experience, with Julie the event manager kindly walking us through every step of the process. Every single item on the menu was incredibly delicious and well presented. I wish I had taken photos but we could hardly wait to take a bite, everything looked so good!Allergies were also a concern in our party, but John was so flexible, and we were happy to learn they run a nut free kitchen anyways. We knew instantly that we we wanted to book them for our wedding, and we have every confidence that John and his team will make the catering a highlight of our big day!

John and his staff were so friendly and welcoming, kept us thoroughly informed of their grilling process and menu options and even sent us home with large trays of the food we sampled! The food was all absolutely delicious - my fiancé talked the whole ride home about how it was the best pulled pork he’s had. The pricing is very fair and a great value for the quality of the food. We are so excited to have them for our big day next spring!

The appetizers, main and side courses he prepared for our taste testing were absolutely delicious. My daughter, the bride, is gluten free and he prepared a menu that was off the charts! He even made us all a special “surprise” gluten free dessert. There was no hesitation in our minds…Tailgate Gourmet Catering was the clear winner in our search for a wedding caterer!

They had multiple courses prepared for us to taste when we arrived. We drank champagne, and ate probably the best food I've had in a long time. The tender juicy beef tenderloin and cheesey arancini were my personal favorites! We have been friends of John and frequent his Patriot tailgates, so we knew the food would be incredible. The whole experience was absolutely perfect. We highly recommend John and his amazing team to cater your next special event.

Tailgate catered my parents surprise 50th anniversary party this weekend and they did an amazing job. The ease of planning with John and the speed of response from first inquiry form made this process easy and very low stress for us. The crew arrived and were very efficient in setup and organizing. The food was amazing and because we included some extra numbers just in case, we had a great second day of meals. Which were packaged up and brought inside by the crew. I highly recommend this company.

John even made a few “surprises” for us to try outside of our original tasting menu, and we went home with leftovers. The wedding industry can be very pushy and intimidating, but Tailgate Gourmet was the exact opposite which was a breath of fresh air!

We just had a tasting at John’s location in Westwood. From beginning to end, John explained what he was serving and how he made it. Everything was spot on - delicious! Our bride is gluten-free, so the entire tasting was GF…we sampled the scallops wrapped on bacon with balsamic glaze, beef with a sweet and siracha marinade, salmon, chicken thighs and beef tenderloin. The side sauce(s) were amazing and just when we thought we were too stuffed to eat any more, he made the best gluten free cookies I ever had. Chocolate chip oatmeal! The bride and groom got take -home samples of everything lol… I cannot say enough good things about the food, the staff and the owner. John genuinely comes across as a very reasonable, accommodating vendor with a flair for food AND service. Go for the taste test and you’ll be hooked! -September 2024 wedding planned :)

His team was so friendly and helped to calm some of my nerves before walking down the aisle, as they were inside the reception hall prepping for dinner. The food was on time and everything was delicious. Even my super Italian Aunt, who is a phenomenal cook, asked for his contact information because she was so blown away by how delicious everything was. And I’m so happy because we had leftovers that John and the team packed up for us to take home! We got so many compliments about the food and people appreciated the dietary modifications that John was able to make!

John is AMAZING! We had our tasting 2 weeks ago and I can’t say enough about him and his staff. We booked immediately! My sister (who is also my maid of honor) has severe food allergies. This was a big concern for me, as I wanted her to be able to enjoy the day and we didn’t want to have to worry about anything happening. John not only was extremely careful and accommodating but made the entire tasting (and our wedding menu) allergen friendly. She left with a HUGE smile on her face and I have never seen her so trusting of someone with food.That aside, the food was out of this world!!! Everything was cooked and flavored to perfection. As everyone knows weddings are very expensive, he worked with us to make sure we got the menu of our dreams and within our budget. He treated us with complimentary champagne, amazing care, great conversation, laughs, full stomachs and cookies! After the tasting was done we not only left with bags filled with leftovers but the best feeling. That is how you should feel with your vendors and don’t settle for less!
