Great little spot in Winchester with a cool vibe and an excellent burger. I was in there for lunch on a Friday and we decided to come back again the following Friday afternoon. Definitely worth a visit.

Feels like they think they are doing you a favor every time they serve you..the look of exasperated waitstaff is hilarious?Been in the business too long to deal with people who feel like they are doing you a favor...if you don't like the work , don't take ut out on the people tryouts to keep the lights on and the back of the house paid$$$

I frequently go to the Tavern for lunch. The food and service are always outstanding. My favorite sandwich is the blackened chicken. It has a nice bite to it. It's a quaint tavern. Very clean. I want to commend the owner and his staff on how professional they were yesterday with some patrons who could not control their kids. The moms were too busy drinking their wine to pay attention to the kids. The owner approached the table and asked the kids very politely to please sit down as they were very load and disruptive to those nearby. He even offered to move us as we were sitting right next them. When the women left they had their kids bang on the windows and stood by laughing. I work in the restaurant business myself and I was very impressed with the owner and staff as they tried their best to make our experience at the tavern the best that it could be under the circumstances. Thank you for another wonderful lunch!!!

If you want to go here on a Friday night expect an 40-60mins wait. We were told 30mins and they do take your phone number and contact you when a seat is available. The space isn't very big which I think is one of the factors of the long wait. The menu has a lot of great sounding meals - ended up just getting calamari as an app (came on lettuce which was strange and some aioli sauce not marinara) and a pizza with two toppings but everything on the menu is a little too pricey for me to consistently come to and spend when theres other places for less. No parking lot - parking is on the street and not easy.

Been here twice! Every time Im in the area it's my go to! Winchester,MA. Blackened sword fish, mango salsa fredhly dished, asparagus I asked to flash on grill for added flavor & spinach. It is always packed with locals. The food & service is on point. Must try!

Food was great. Service was great. Sat at a high table near the bar and really enjoyed the atmosphere. My son and I really like the playlist - lots a great songs (old and new).

We stopped in for a an early dinner and we wanted to try a new tavern. The place has a nice vibe and the staff were great. The food however might be some of the most exceptionally mediocre pub food I've ever had. I wish someone prepared us, a lot of the reviews said it was good. People are either trying to be too nice or are lacking taste buds. The calamari was probably from a frozen bag and was tasteless rubber. The buffalo chicken was ok but not great and the clam chowder was boring and odd tasting. We had a a ravioli which was the high point of the meal but at this point the bar was quite low. I love pub food and I think this place should up their game. If you go then I would recommend you spend the money on cocktails and fries, I assume the pizza might be ok but not go for the rest of the menu. Check out a place like Tavern at the end of the World for good pub food.

This rating is based on the character of the people working there. I was visiting Oak Grove Cemetery (both parents there) and someone took the shot glass I leave there as when I visit I take a shot and leave a shot. To put it politely I was upset. I look for a pub close by and Black Horse popped up. I went there explained the situation as I needed a shot glass. Not only did they give me a shot glass but the said my drink was on the house. Kudos to the young man at the front, the bartender, and the owner for empowering his employees to do what is right. To bad stories like this do not make the news. Thank you and I know where my wife are going out to eat next. Matt

The food here is the shining star. Everything on the menu is fresh and prepared so well. The vibe here is some what odd. Hard to put a finger on it but it's a "Murphy Brown" secretary of experience every time we go. The host or hostess always looks surprised as to why you're there. It's almost comical. Prices are so reasonable.

Quite possibly the worst meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Braised short rib, more like flavorless hunk of meat on top of instant potatoes covered with very stale shoestring somethings and not sure why but a ridiculous amount of baby carrots straight out of the bag from local grocer’s produce aisle. As I’m pondering if there could be a worse meal I look across the table with horror at my wife’s “pulled pork tacos” which consisted of Lloyd’s pulled pork , a sandwich brown colored slice of avocado and once again everyone’s favorite stale shoestring somethings. Awful and it cost 70 dollars per person.

Nice spot to get a quick bite in downtown Winchester. Staff is very friendly. Currently there is quite a bit of construction for the new train station across the street, so adjacent parking may be limited.
