The absolute worst Japanese/sushi restaurant we have ever been to. Looks like a run down hole in the wall as soon as you walk in. Sometimes these turn out to be the best places which we were hopeful for. It was quite busy when we arrived. That too gave us hope.Hard to complain too much about the service. One poor lady was running the whole restaurant. Not another server to be found. Seemed quite unfair to her and certainly for us customers. It took an hour to get our main courses. Hot apps were cold and the $14 spicy tempura sushi roll we ordered as an app was not a full roll. Four tiny pieces that were not at all spicy. However, they were a soggy mess. I had to wait about 10-15 minutes longer for my main course than the rest of my family. Mine was sushi and theirs were cooked meals. Part of my order was missing . I had to wait even longer for them to prepare that. I wasn’t given soy sauce or the usual small dish given for dipping the sushi. When I asked for it the server gave me a tiny plastic to go condiment container. Apparently she ran out of the dishes other diners seemed to be using. It was not big enough to dip the sushi in so I used the app plate. Our first impression was correct…..this is a hole in the wall. Will be happy tomorrow if none of us wake up with a stomach ache.

Beef, they served. It's too tough and the shrimp tempora, it's too much oil and the scallop tempora, the scallop is about a quarter of an inch, they are being cheap. The roll, they have too much rice not enough meat. White Fish, they used for the roll is not a good fish. I am not going to go there agin. I wouldn't recommend.

I was visiting a friend who suggested this quaint Japanese restaurant located on Main St Winchester MA the sushi bar seats approx 6 and the dinner room about 40 seats Sakura offers both off the menu an All you can eat menu. Sakura is popular for take out. We went on a Saturday night the price for all you can eat was $33.95 a person We each started with a house salad, there was plenty of the orange ginger dressing. Next we had Miso Soup- another traditional appetizer We order an arrangement of Sashimi to Maki rolls I saw one server our service was quick !!! If I'm back in the area I would visit again and so should you ...

My favorite restaurant!!!!!!!! The best sushi and such a good price. Yes some of the reviews here complain about the atmosphere, but that doesn’t take away from the good food! Have been going here for years and will definitely

Tried this place one time few months back it was definitely a bit surprising to me as I expected to be more of a Chinese style sushi restaurant I didn’t know that all they had was only Japanese style things mostly sushi and not really all that much of it I believe I ordered some kind of chicken style plates a few teriyaki things as well and I think a pork fried rice while everything was good I didn’t find the portions to be really all that much I had to re order again the same items to get myself full and satisfied it was worth it though just not really what I’m used to also I have not set foot into this business since it was the Old Fen Yang House Chinese Restaurant which is now closed and out of business it’s also much smaller egged since they took over and reopened to Sakura I may try this place again since I only live 10 mins away I didn’t hate it it was not bad just have to get used to I guess if I really want a different style of Japanese foodParking: Very small lot and tight very limited fills up fast especially on weekends and days when it is nice weather a lot of people visit.

We stopped here for lunch and had a delicious, flavorful meal! Yum! We ordered two lunch specials (two maki rolls each + soup + salad) and also the spicy edamame. On a very cold New England day, the miso soup really hit the spot. The salad was a decent garden salad with a typical ginger dressing. The maki rolls we chose were delicious-spicy mixed fishes (both of us), salmon avocado, and sweet potato tempura. Each was tasty, fresh, and well made. The spicy edamame was the surprising star of the show-so flavorful. Oh, and spicy in such a good way. I was dripping from the heat while smiling and continuing to eat piece by piece. Salty edamame is good-this was fantastic! Simple, but really good! If you pay with cash, there are discounts available for up to about 15% of the bill (4 off 30, 6 off 40). Service was pleasant and prompt. The atmosphere is professional and moderately quaint. Overall, well worth a visit. Tip: After ten years, I think the quality has improved recently with the opening of another sushi restaurant up the street. This is healthy competition at its finest where we all win! Enjoy!

What a gem of a spot. Great service and can't beat the price for such good quality food.

We ordered sushi, tempura and chicken teriyaki tonight. The sushi was very average - not good but edible. Both the teriyaki and tempura were awful. The chicken teriyaki was inedible (it tasted like a frozen dinner) and the tempura had no tempura on it and it was a fried greasy vegetables. Will never go there again.

My absolute favorite place for great sushi! AYCE places get a bad reputation for having bad quality fish and ingredients, but Sakura breaks that stereotype and even has better fish than other pricey places in the area. The restaurant itself is small and the staff is friendly and attentive. The salmon nigiri, seaweed salad, and the Winchester roll are always my go-to picks.

Ordered seafood soup. Menu says it has shrimp, fish cake, scallop and vegetable. Sounded good. it was a bowl of broth with ONE shrimp, a thin 2" piece of fake crab, and a piece of white stuff smaller than my pinkie nail floating around. NO fish cakes, NO vegetables. I would have sent it back but it was so dark in there and the menu font so small I did not expect it could be so far off from the menu description. I thought it might be a joke. For $8!! A bowl of liquid with three small items floating in it. Even the liquid had a weird ashtray-like aftertaste.

Do not let the outside deceive you! This place is WONDERFUL!!! I have been going here for years and love the dinner buffet!!! They have a great deal where you pay about $40/person and pretty much can get whatever you want (with the exception that you eat everything - every piece you don't eat is about a dollar or two). The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable. My favorite rolls are the specialty rolls (especially the Christmas, Winchester, and volcano). My sister introduced me to this place when I was younger and I have been going here for over 10 years! Take out is a bit exspensive so I do prefer to eat in house but no matter what, always a great meal at Sakura! Quality food, quality service! If I had one suggestion for the Sakura Staff it would be to label each of the rolls or tell as they arrive on the table. Sometimes, I get so many and I am unsure which is which! Other than that, 10/10 place!!

Excellent food with unmatched value. Friendly and quick service. Located in Winchester, being from Stoneham it's super convenient. I'd definitely recommend going in, opposed to ordering online and taking advantage of the all you can eat menu, which runs through all hours of service.

One of the better AYCE sushi spots in the greater Boston area. They one of the few that have snow crab as an option in some rolls.
