Give them a few stars for the atmosphere and history, but the lunch fare was not good. The clam chowder was all cream and no clams, and the seafood salad very average. There is a reason they are empty at lunch while nearby places are buzzing.

My husband and I living here for about 10 days now and finally stopped in, it is a beautiful place in business since 1925!! The ice cream is delicious and the owner whose Great Grandfather started the business that not only was an ice store but also a pharmacy, was one of the nicest and pleasant people we have met. We of course will be stopping there now many, many times and bringing our Family and Friends!!We love Yarmouth port!!

Had been wanting to stop in for a while and finally did today. It was okay. The ice cream is not home made, I asked. And when he offered to split a frappe in half for my boys, I asked how big it was, he said 24 oz. so I said okay and he gave us two 8 oz. cups. For the frappe and small cup of ice cream it was $15 which I guess is standard fair now but still surprises me. I also don't know if there are actually any ice cream shops that make their own ice cream anymore. They all seem to outsource. Or at least outsource the base and then add stuff in, like at Smugglers. Anyhoo, it was fine but not somewhere I'd rush back to. I like that it's old and has a nostalgic feel about it. The owner was friendly. I only had ice cream though so I don't know how the food is.

Such a fun piece of history, still family owned and operated.Get an old fashioned treat!Parking: Super tricky finding a place to park in this area. Most parking is strictly for a certain business only, subject to towing, but on the weekend, we parked at a medical office a few doors down that was closed at the time

A Northside institution. Hadn't been there for years but I heard their clam chowder was excellent, so I had to stop in. It was, so I bought a couple of cans to take back to Florida with me. What a neat place, very nostalgic. When I asked if the old soda fountain had always been where it was, the owner showed me that my memory was pretty accurate, as he had moved it to its current location after a car crashed into the building. Great time, discussing old Yarmouth history and people. If you find yourself driving alon 6A, stop in, get a sandwich and a frappe or milkshake, and think back on simpler times. And pick up a xan of delicious clam chowder.

North worth the trip for the ice cream or ambiance. Mediocre ice cream at best and owner has no customer service skills Samples aren't allowed and they advertise things they don't sell and call it "decorative." It's not a historical menu from when the place opened either, it's a modern sign for soda that they no longer carry. A sign in an ice cream shop giving kids under 12 a 10 minute time limit is also laughable. Stay away.

Hallet's is located in a beautiful historic building right off of scenic 6A. The exterior of the store is very cute and welcoming... but that's where the charm ends. We stopped in for an ice cream with our son earlier this summer. The prices are insane even for the Cape: $6 for a small cone (very small indeed) and no kids sizes available. We still decided to try and while we were waiting for our order started noticing signs hung on the walls stating that children are not allowed inside for more than 10 minutes and are forbidden from touching anything. I understand the concern for unvaccinated kids (I am giving the owner the benefit of the doubt that this is the reason for the signage), but there are a couple issues with this policy: 1. Kids really like ice cream. 2. There is no where to eat the ice cream outside of the store. When you step out the door you are literally in the street. No benches, chairs, or even a stump in sight. We ended up eating our ice cream on the neighboring business's stoop. There are a few easy ways that the owner could remedy this situation: require everyone (including children) to wear masks while inside, provide ample hand sanitizer, and direct patrons to an area outdoors where their overpriced frozen treats can be enjoyed. None of this might have been an issue however if the ice cream wasn't downright terrible. The owner even assured us when we skeptically asked about the high price tag that this was "high quality stuff". We ordered coconut ice cream and there was not a hint of coconut flavor - it just tasted like an artificial vanilla-like flavoring. The consistency was very strange and elastic as well - also not enjoyable. In summary, Hallet's is best experienced through the window of a moving car that's on its way to a different ice cream store.

Best clam chowder and ice cream around. Welcoming and laid back.

Great homemade ice cream, very pleasant owner, all at a family owned store that had been passed over generations. Must visit!P.s. - Not sure why these whiny 1-star reviews are posted. Instead of supporting a local business that sells homemade ice cream, a small number of individuals seem to think they are at corporate Friendly’s. The cups are not recyclable, the man is not friendly enough, the maple ice cream does not have nuts, one scoop is $5, there wasn’t a dog and a pony show. Grow up. It takes time and effort to make. So stop ruining the reputation of a business 130 years old.Prefer Friendly’s? Go there. Enough with the trolling nonsense. This isnt your facebook wall…

My daughters saw some stuffed animals on their shelves and quietly touched a few of them and opened two little drawers. The man behind the counter yelled loudly for them to stop touching things, and then proceeded to scream at them to “get outside”. I’ve never had someone yell at my children like that. When I told him that I was sorry and didn’t know, he rudely replied by saying that there was a sign up on the mirror. There were signs all over the store, and I had not seen the small paper one on the mirror behind my back. I never write reviews, but it all made us upset after it happened.
