The manager was very friendly and helpful. The sign out front advertised a daily buffet, but there wasn't a buffet. Apparently, it's coming soon.I ordered what I understood to be a combination plate. It turned out to be a huge 12-inch diameter Ethiopian injera bread, warm, soft and delicious just like it's supposed to be, plus a large bowl of what I will call stew/soup with beef, carrots, beans, onions and sweet green peppers and Ethiopian butter.I ordered the spicy option, which had a bit of a kick but not too spicy. The dish was very tasty, though I did find the beef, which was cut into little cubes, rather tough. He also gave me a couple of pieces of biscuits to soak up the liquid. The injera bread was warm and tasty. The atmosphere was very Ethiopian with pictures and decorations on the wall, giving it a quaint and very pleasant ambuence. I found the price of almost $20 to be a bit on the high side for a bowl of stew and the bread. But all together a very fine experience. I like trying food from different countries, and the manager and his mother created a fine Ethiopian atmosphere. I'll be back in the future for another try when they have a real buffet.

Absolutely amazing Ethiopian cuisine. Pinnacle of African ethnic food in silly little Brandon. If you don't enjoy this food then the only assumption is that your tongue is broken, go see a doctor. Small town restaurant with a comforting small town vibe, but big city flavor. Also, portions are absolutely massive for the price. I cannot recommend a better place to eat, in or out. Love it.

This place is an absolute gem. I have yet to dine in, but have had their Tana Mix delivered many times. It is flavourful with a bit of heat, several selections of dishes and very generous in its portions. It feeds me for at least three meals. I’m looking forward to dining in sometime.

Excellent Ethiopian food discovered while passing through Brandon. I got #8 Shiro Wat and my husband got #5 Tibs beef. I asked for my vegetarian Shiro Wat to be “extra spicy “ and it was perfect. Just as good as the Ethiopian restaurants we’ve been to in NYC and Philly. What a great find in what feels like a remote area in Canada.

I absolutely love the food here. Authentic, different, and yet comforting too. It's food you can feel good about eating because it's good for you, and the mother and son who run the place are some of the warmest and kindest people I have ever met. They always come over to check on you. You feel like you are family.Kid-friendliness: The food at Tana would be a great way to introduce a child to ethnic foods. It's mostly vegetable and there are plenty of dishes where the spices are not too hot for little mouths.

This is the experience you've been looking for: the uniquely spiced meats, the subtle aromas, the "injera" bread, the colours, and the presentation stirred fond memories in me of Lamu and Malindi and Mombasa, Kenya. The Ethiopian coffee here was so dark, so rich, and so FULL that it tranported me right back to a side-street samovar-tilted coffee in Malindi in 1975. Eat here!!

The food was phenomenal with great service. Excellent vegan options and the meals were very affordable. The owners also care very much about their customers which I admire

Easily the best food in Brandon…. I do not eat out due to the lack of quality food now days, but upon coming to Tanas and taking a chance, this is probably the only place I would consider eating out for supper in Brandon…. The food was OUTSTANDING… and I don’t say that lightly. The spices, and flavour was beyond that I could image. It was so good I couldn’t help but dance in my chair while eating!!!! BEST FOOD IN BRANDON, and honestly best food I’ve tasted in my travels for LONG time. Well done tanas! I would have loved to see a more of an African decorated restaurant- I would put money into the design and decor for aesthetic purposes, beyond that, wouldn’t change a thing. Owners were really pleasant and wonderful too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our favorite is the Tana mix combo beef. With injera. It feeds 2-4 people depending on the appetite. The beef is very tender and tasty. The whole meal is delicious that i always forget to take a picture before i dig in. Coffee is the best too. Parking on the side or at the back.

Friendly service and delicious food. The Tibs beef could be a staple to my diet if I lived closer. We've eaten here more than half a dozen times now and it was great every time. Get it spicy!
