It was a great place for food but the taste of the Italian cuisine that was expected didn't meet the standards. Though the service was excellent and you could tell the waiter cared. The restaurant inside was beautiful and nothing I could/ would change about that.Wheelchair accessibility: No ramp but the sidewalk is level to the ground making it easy to access.

Place is busy on a Friday night so make a reservation! Had garlic knots for appetizer, Caesar salad and a pasta dish - I think the chef’s something or other it was called. Then tried their mango gelato and everything was delicious - we had no leftovers.

We’ve been to over 70+ restaurants in Winnipeg, and Alena is well in our top 5. The food is always so delicious and consistent, definitely a bang for your buck! Highly recommend their Pizza Alena—it’s so simple but has so many flavours!

Our party was the first to order our food and the last to be served. Some food was cold and one was not cooked all the way for the price of the food was not worh it my Opinion. Never going there again if you have birthday party and you bring a cake they charge $ 6.00 per slice its called a cake cutting fee if you cut it youself its 3.00

Great little Italian place with a beautiful wood stove kitchen right beside the dining area. The wild boar chops were amazing. I will be going back for more again soon.Your clothes may smell a bit from the smoke when you leave, I noticed it when changing at the end of the night but I thought it smelled great and made me want to go back for more!

From the minute we walked in and smelled the wood fire grill, the decor, the atmosphere, it was wonderful. The food was amazing as was the service. Highly recommended this place. Make reservations as they were busy and keep being busy. We will be back!

The BEST restaurant experience I've had in Winnipeg in a looong time. Every single food/beverage was excellent, service was outstanding, the atmosphere comfortable was and cosy. It is obvious that they only use quality ingredients in their food - it really showed! Every dish offered so much flavour and we were thrilled with the taste of everything. It is quite an expensive restaurant by 'average person' standards, BUT in this instance you actually truly 'get what you pay for' (so often these days you definitely do not).Would 10/10 come back here once in a while, if the budget allows!

Pizza absolutely poorDough cooked on fire stoneSome green leafy plant thrown on topVery little shaved Italian thinly shaved dried out meat just loosely tossed on bread..very small sack of tasteless chess ...that I guess we had to kind break open and try to put it on the bread...approx 8 inch baked thin bread with above mentioned tasteless mess on top..we had a small taste and just left the rest..Totally waste of money...never again!""REAL ITALIAN" ....STONE COOKED ...BLAH..BLAH...BLAH...LIPSTICK ON A PIG ...I do not recommend this place...

Absolutely outstanding. A table of four of us went to celebrate a birthday. We had a bottle of prosecco & an amazing mock tail. Calamari 10/10, mussels & focaccia 10/10, shrimp appetizer amazing but small. Pasta carbonara was the best pasta we've ever had 1000/10. Our server was funny and professional and knowledgeable and fast. It's a gorgeous lil spot. It really was the absolute best experience. We were all raving all night and can't wait to go back.

I got Pappardelle Cinghiale.Service was great but the food was not what I expected from an Italian restaurant. The food was alright. The olive oil-roasted potatoes were tasteless. I will stick to: Hart Mozza and Wine restaurant ? ? ?

Our first time at Alena - nice ambiance as soon as you enter. Classic low light mood. Service was superb - very relaxed and easy going. Andrew was excellent. We had salads and pasta dishes - all very good. I love to cook Italian myself -- the rigatoni arrabbiatta was amazing - just a hint of spicy chilis and house-made crumbled Italian sausage. Very generous servings. Appreciate that the wine by the glass is almost the same price as wine by the bottle --thanks. I gave a 5-star rating -- would give 6 if it was allowed.
