Atmosphere needs an update but everything else was good. Good portion size and good food.

My ratings are based on what your realistic expectations should be of a place like Applebee's. Considering it's ao casual and affordable, the service & food is surprisingly good and the quality is consistent. Their staff is always incredibly well trained too.A 7oz steak is about $20 and is on par with $30 steaks. They're usually cooked to the proper doneness too. If it's over or under just let them know and they'll have the kitchen fire another one for you immediately.Everything on the menu is pretty good. They have 2 star prices but offer 3 star meals and service. Incredible value for the money.Wheelchair accessibility: Good accessibility from what I can tell.

February 16, 2024: 6 of us out for Friday night dinner at 5:30 pm including 2 kids ages 10 and 13. Extremely long wait for food and the place was almost empty when we arrived. Everyone’s dinner was fine except mine. There was nothing edible on the plate. Mashed potatoes were so cold they couldn’t melt the soft butter I put on them, green beans were not cooked (I can’t even say under cooked, as they didn’t taste like any heat had been applied to them) and steak was a chewy piece of gristle with a strange chunk of fat and gristle attached to the bottom. Gag! Our waitress was doing her best but there seemed to be no other server in the place. My son, who has managed restaurants, finally got up to go search for the manager. He reported seeing that our waitress was looking after both sides of the restaurant! I don’t know if people called in sick or this is how management staffs on a Friday. None of this was our servers fault. The kitchen and management dropped the ball. I tipped our server with cash and express instructions NOT to share that tip with anyone as she was the only one who earned it. She apologized profusely and felt badly at the service and food. Finally the “manager” came over to apologize and tell me my meal was being removed from the bill because I “didn’t like it”. Wow. I clarified that I didn’t like it because it wasn’t edible due to quality and prep. We made sure she was aware we had noticed the understaffing and in no way felt anything was our servers issue. I think I should note that we didn’t see the “manager” grab an apron and help out as she should. She also gave us a $30 gift certificate which went straight in the garbage as we won’t be back.

Been here a few times so thought I'd finally give a review! Today we came here for supper before heading over to an escape room. Everyone is super nice and provide good service. The food is really wonderful and filling! A little pricy but usually worth what you are getting. Today I tried the homestyle chicken bowl and it was amazing! Chicken strips and veggies on top of creamy mashed potatoes with lots of gravy ?. And I was very full after.Vegetarian options: A few good vegetarian options as well as vegan, but not a whole lot.

The food was "meh" expensive for very average food. It was very busy so the servers were crazy busy, still polite but do they need more people hired?

Food was okay but the service left alot to be desired I got a drink before my meal and wanted another one with my meal I asked the waitress for another she ignored me I thought maybe she had an issue with serving an alcoholic beverage so I asked for a water and still nothing she ignored every table in our area except for one that got great service she was there every 10 minutes or so and ignored all the rest of us even when we tried to flag her down

I recently enjoyed a fantastic dining experience at this establishment. The Bourbon Steak and Cowboy Burger with poutine were culinary delights, bursting with flavor. The burger's juiciness was remarkable, and every dish arrived promptly and hot, thanks to the attentive service. The server's friendliness added to the overall positive atmosphere. The family-friendly setting made it perfect for children, making it an excellent choice for a memorable meal. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning soon.

***Update***The owner has reached out to me, however the link they provided doesn’t work. She could never get through to Skip the Dishes either after spending an hour trying to chat with someone. My wife ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad from this location through Skip the Dishes. Skip doesn’t pick up and deliver from Applebees (not sure why they’re even used). So my wife had to drive from Westwood all the way out to Applebees at Grant Park in -30 degree weather. She picked up the two shopping bags of food and drove twenty minutes back home. As she unpacked all of the family’s food she discovered that there was no chicken in the bag for her $23.00 Oriental “Chicken” salad. Naturally she was very upset. She called Applebees and after speaking to someone on the phone she was hung up on. She called back and asked for the manager. She eventually spoke to Mark and explained how unhappy she was, he said because she ordered it through a third party she would have to deal with Skip the Dishes, even though they never handled the food nor the delivery. Obviously, sensing a runaround she used the “F” word regarding not getting chicken in her chicken salad. He said he was hanging up the phone because of the swear word. The total dollar amount of the food was $123.94 before taxes. She tried contacting Skip the Dishes and after waiting on their Chat Bot line, she was disconnected from their service as well. If Applebees was a half decent company they could have sent the chicken over by courier or taxi instead of shuffling the responsibility of not making sure they had packed the order correctly at the restaurant. Disgusting customer service and poorly managed by Mark!!!! If that’s how they treat their customers, then we won’t be customers of theirs any longer. Photo of what the salad should look like (from the website) vs photo of what she got for $23.00!

Our recent visit was our last. Food was subpar (one of us didn't even get what we ordered). Our server only stopped by after our meals were done (must have been on a break because she smelt awful from smoking) just to say, "Can I bring you the bill?" This was our give the restaurant another chance dinner. Our previous time wasn't much better. So if you're thinking of going to Applebee's by Grant Park Mall, save your money and go elsewhere.

I ordered the fish and chips and it was just ordinary. There was nothing special to it. It was nothing compared to the fish and chips at the Forks.
