Owner is friendly but made some inappropriate comments. Went with my 80 year old mother in-law. When she ordered a coke he asked if she wanted the drinking or sniffing kind… then as a joke he threw an empty can at her, saying catch! I get he was trying to be funny but it terrified her.The inside is clean but nothing special.The food. Chicken burger was two small chicken fingers, very chewy. The spice was franks. The bun was good. He came by after we had been eating and saw that I had taken the 2 small chicken fingers out of the bun and explained that because of shrinkflation he went from actual chicken burgers to this. For $14.00 I can buy my own box of chicken fingers. The fries are frozen and the chilli was not to our liking.If the owner wants more business I think he should try and add some real burgers and homemade fries. He asked us three times if we liked our food and it actually felt awkward. There are many other options with much better quality and value. Would not return or recommend.

A truly great burger restaurant. Friendly owner (Nick) went out of his way to help us order. Likes to joke and kid around. It's obvious he loves what he does and it shows in the food. Fresh ingredients and great taste. Recommended.
Went here couple days ago. Nick was awesome, I really liked the service.I had the Swiss burger combo. Burger was big, fries was crispy and portion was perfect. Will definitely be coming back and trying other burgers on the menu.

First time at Golden Boy Bistro. We were greeted by the very friendly owner. There were four of us. All enjoyed burgers and fries. The burgers were huge. The patties have no fillers and are made from Angus Beef. So tasty. My burger was lettuce wrapped as I am gluten free but not celiac. The fries are coated in rice flour.The restaurant is clean, the washrooms are very clean, we will be going back for wings on Friday.

Got the poutine last night after a long day and can I say DELICIOUS! The food here is super yummy and always fresh! Poutine has the best crispy fries with the best gravy! Ive had poutine at many places but this is by far my favourite in Winnipeg!

Got two chicken burgers and the golden boy Burger and a poutine... So let me start off by saying the food is really good, but the reason for the 3 star rating is because the chicken burgers. They were well done skimpy on the toppings, had 2 little pieces of romaine lettuce, one tomato two pickles. The flavor was great. The golden boy Burger the flavor was good. well seasoned. It had a nice char on the Burger Patty, but the patty was absolutely disgusting. The texture was awful. It's like they took it and put it in a food processor and ground the meat until it was a fine paste, then they made it into a burger. I don't know if it was too much filler or if the meat was ground too much. It's like I was eating a tuna pate burger.... The poutine, the fries were great. The gravy was good, very limited on cheese. Very skimpy again on the toppings... I would go back there again for the chicken and fries.But I would not recommend getting a burger...

I took my boys for lunch today after hearing from so many neighbours that we had to go try the delicious food here. Can confirm: everything was fabulous, and the owner is super, super nice. Highly recommend!
