Shrinkflation has apparently hit Koya too. $20 and a $5 tip gets you a few pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of broccoli I guess. Won’t come back, spend your money somewhere else.

There were four people in front of me, at 8:00 in the evening. Well after dinner time. It took over TWENTY MINUTES to get my food after ordering. I nearly asked for a refund, I could have ordered at another restaurant, been served, eaten, and HOME by the time I was served here. They have a sign in the window that says "The whole world is short staffed, be kind to those that showed up." Sure, but don't use that as an excuse for poor service. Food itself was excellent and staff friendly, but just too slow!

One of my favourites as a kid. I had the beef udon stir fry again recently, and it was good and well-portioned. This is my go-to when I am in St Vital. The lady at the cashier, and the two cooks, are also very nice.

I tried some kind of wonton thing, which was ok, but they gave me a bunch of sticky glass looking noodles, which I didn't care for, this was back in June of 2023

I love Koya and frequently go to other versions of this franchise in the city. And out of them all, I think this is the most disappointing one. Their sauce is watery, the chicken is drier, and the portion sizes are smaller than other Koyas in the city.I do really love the atmosphere of the St. Vital food court and the staff has always been extremely friendly. That being said, this is the only Koya that I'll actively avoid eating at. If you want a better representation of the franchise, I really recommend Grant Park.

I LOVE Koya Japan! I used to eat there all the time when I worked at the mall and still do whenever I'm over there. I always order the Chicken Teriyaki with rice, no mushrooms and extra sauce! They are always friendly and accomodating and they stir-fry your food right there in front of you! This dish is PERFECT and they give you a very generous serving. The veggies still have some bite to them, and the chicken is tender and so flavorful. This meal is mouth-watering and filled with wonderful textures, it's just absolutely DELICIOUS!!! Also, when it comes to choosing take-out, this is the healthiest balanced meal choices you can make. (I say "balanced" because I don't believe in extreme diets or that we should just be eating leafy greens). Great....now I'm craving some.

takoyaki was served cold and with a little sauce, it also doesn't have octopus meat
