Weekend DimSum go to place in Winnipeg.Somewhat less choices compared to pre-pandemic times but still plenty to choose from. Quite busy all the time and waiting is expected anywhere from. 10-20min. Parking is free after their refund, but often we need to find a street parking as the parking lot is usually full.

The food and experience of Kum Koon Garden cannot be beat. My family has been going to this restaurant since I was a little kid and it is always a treat every time we visit. I am likely not the best judge of what good or authentic dim sum is but I can tell you that it is delicious. Just the thought of their various dumplings, ginger beef, fried noodles, and coconut buns to name a few items makes my mouth water. The food is brought around the restaurant on carts to your table to which you can ask for certain foods or decline. It is always busy (for good reason) so I recommend getting a reservation. In my opinion, the bigger the group you bring the better. You do have to pay for parking in their parking lot, however, they will refund you the cost of parking when you pay for your food if you present your receipt. I could not recommend this restaurant more. Make sure to go on an empty stomach!Parking: You have to pay for parking in their lot but they will reimburse the cost of your parking when you pay for your food as long as you have your receipt.Kid-friendliness: The restaurant isn’t made for kids specifically but there are always families there and kids are definitely welcome. There is no form of kids meal.

Food taste is good but expensive per person, they charge mandatory extra 12% service fee and asking again for tips which is very greedy. The guy wearing mask at front desk was very rude, no greetings, not even wanting to talk to us when we came in. They really should fire this guy unless he’s the owner which explains why he’s still there after so many complaints about him.

Went on a Wednesday and the food was nothing special and the dim sum cart service was terrible. We were seated in the first room. There were others in that area but most of them were finished their meals. Most of the carts ignored our area and we had to wait a long time between a cart coming to our table. We waited 15 minutes between our first cart to the next cart. The cost of each dish was very expensive and not great. For example, a small plate of noodles, nothing but noodles, cost $9.00. I would not go back.

So penny-pinching staff! The parking lot by the restaurant has a machine by Main Street, it didn’t print receipt today. They are supposed to reimburse the parking fee, I explained to the guy at cashier for 5 mins but he refused to trust me because the bank app showing the wrong location which is 2 km away from your restaurant, who would park 2km away and walk to your restaurant with -10C in Winnipeg Downtown in winter?Who on earth eating in your restaurant wants to scam you for $6? Will not come back again!
