One word - Amazing. I have bought two birthday cakes for my two daughters from blue crab cupcakes. Both have far exceeded my expectations. The staff is super friendly and the shop is super cute. Super friendly staff. I visited with my friend who is gluten-free. So happy to see so many GF options that are covered and packaged separately to avoid contamination. No wonder there was a line outside waiting for the store to open. Delicious cupcakes Will definitely make the trip there again!

Bottom Line: Very tasty and lovely cupcakes among other sweet treats. Gosh, I don't know why I haven't Yelped Blue Crab Cupcakes before now. Whenever I need a dessert for a special occasion I head to Blue Crab Cupcakes. It is a small shop in a shopping center that is past its prime but the cupcakes always shine. As far as favorite cupcake flavors - I don't think you can go wrong. My husband is more into flavors with a chocolate base like the S'mores or Triple Chocolate. I prefer flavors with a vanilla base like Funfetti and Snickerdoodle. Blue Crab Cupcakes has the best vanilla cupcakes that I have ever had. Never in my life would I have thought a vanilla cupcake could be so sophisticated and absolutely delicious. Blue Crab Cupcakes offers regular flavors, seasonal flavors and even some gluten free cupcakes. I've also tried other desserts from Blue Crab Cupcakes like cookies and macarons and go figure they were also decadent and carefully prepared. The staff is always friendly and parking is plentiful. Located close to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Blue Crab Cupcakes is a perfectly fitting name but as someone who is Maryland bread and crab fed, I do wish their logo more authentically resembled Maryland's beloved callinectes sapidus.

I attended a baby shower that had the cutest and most delicious cake and cupcakes!! Turned out they were from Blue Crab Cupcakes!! So a couple weeks later, we were having my son's 4th birthday party and I just knew we had to order his cake from BCC!! My son wanted a Spidey-giraffe-butterfly themed party (4-year-olds, man ?) so we had the most unusual request for BCC. They were so great to accommodate us and so creative! We loved how his cake turned out! It was going to be weird no matter what, with all three themes... ? But it looked awesome. We also ordered a bunch of cupcakes, which were heavenly. I thought everything was reasonably priced as well. Definitely will be ordering from them again for future events.
Ordered a custom birthday cake for my daughter’s party and was so blown away by how it turned out! The experience was so simple and they were able to take my order on Monday for a Saturday cake (picked up on Friday). Consulting on the design was very simple, and they executed it perfectly. Not only was the cake beautiful (people from other party rooms were coming over to look at it) but it was delicious! It was the perfect balance of sweetness. Our guests raved about it. Highly recommend them for cakes!

I have to update!! Went back on December 30th, service was definitely better. They were polite and smiled and were very helpful this time! We bought 18 cupcakes plus a 12 pack of mini New Years cupcakes! A week later and these cupcakes still taste amazing and soft! We also went in the morning so it was not busy so there were plenty of cupcakes to choose from!
