We spent 40 minutes waiting for our order. Food was not bad, but the waiting time killed the experience. The waitress also was in rush and clearly looking

I have never left on a review on any place ever but I definitely felt the need to tonight. I have celiac disease, which yes obviously I understand about the cross contamination. I did not know that the spicy tuna roll had crunch in it because I have never got it in it before nor does it list the description on it online. I decided to eat my sushi in my car and on the third one, yes third bc I just thought the tuna had a little bit of texture in it. I didn’t realize till i ate it. I immediately put my dish down and went in there. I had no attitude bc I was genuinely curious about how it’s made bc it usually doesn’t have the crunch in there. I was greeted by this really rude woman up front. The white girl with the really bad attitude.she said “yeah it’s made like that bc sometimes they just put the crunch in unless you specify” like how was I supposed to know? Anyways, she said “so you wait until you eat half of it” there was 6 damn rolls. It’s not that deep. My bad for feeling a crunch and having an allergy and just wanting a fresh roll. My apologies I guess lol. She kept saying “oh I don’t think the manger is gonna do that” this and that. And she asked right in front of me and she said yes within 5 seconds. Horrible customer service (only from that one white girl with black hair) any other time they were all very nice. Some people don’t belong in customer service if they don’t have the attitude for it.

Review Update:We have seen a major improvement in the service and food since my last review and they are back to being the best sushi spot in Annapolis. Highly recommend! We’ve been going here for years and have told all of our neighbors it’s the best sushi in Annapolis. Unfortunately, the last 2 times we ordered we’ve been really disappointed with the quality of the fish. The yellow tail has been chewy and overly fishy, the tuna was such a deep red it looked like it had been dyed and had no flavor, and the scallop was just a mess of mush and again overly fishy. I shared out disappointment with a mgr who said she was going to call me back and never did. Not sure we’ll be back, such a bummer.

The Sushi here is pretty good, needless to say it isn't the freshest sushi I've had that's changed my whole mood. The service here is not really good, particularly the server there is usually impatient and looks very unhappy to serve which can make you feel a bit weird as a guest. The menu selection is actually extensive, the reason I'll add a second star. Being inside is very boring and calm so if you like that type of setting, it's for you--I find the lighting to be very dull.

I loved this place, especially for delivery, until they had us sit on our hands waiting for our food for over 2.5 hours until we just canceled. No call or anything to say “hey, it’s busy tonight and will take a while” so we could make sure it made sense to wait. What a bummer for my family…

Probably our favorite sushi place in Annapolis. Previously, we would go to Tsunami or Joss, but Yama has taken over. It's cheaper, more casual, and more family friendly than the other options. Yet, the sushi is just as good, if not better. They even give you this little cucumber wasabi salad, which we are always looking forward to when we go as a little appetizer.Others may say the staff isn't as friendly, but that's just typically how the more authentic restaurants are. They are quick, and get you in and out fast, but have no problem if you decide to take your time. The atmosphere isn't as lively as the downtown sushi options, but more often than not, we prefer that. That said, it's nearly always full, and the wait is typically only 10-20 minutes in those cases.Definitely a town favorite!Parking: The main parking lot in front of the restaurant is nearly always packed and the spaces are like 25% smaller than most. So when a large truck parks in a spot, they kinda take up 2 spots. It's pretty much always full. Pro tip, there is an overflow lot to the right of the restaurant that typically has plenty of spots

Weekend adventures entail a new spot, and because of distance and time, well happenstance Yama. And it was a delight. A very busy place indeed full of locals. Service was wonderful and prompt. The servers here pull a good weight, balancing several tables while keeping a smile and warm welcome, sometimes absent at such establishments. For our 1st visit, we selected Pearl, Pink, Dragon, Gold Fish, and Paradise. All are fantastic. We'll definitely be back to try the hand rolls and a la carte options. Pearl: Fried oyster, cream cheese, avocado, tobiko, and shrimp. Pink: Eel, cucumber, avocado, topped with salmon and masago. Dragon: Crab stick, tuna, cucumber, eel, avocado, and masago. Gold Fish: Fresh salmon, avocado, spicy white tuna, crunch with wasabi and mayo on top. Paradise: Shrimp tempura, fresh mango, spicy tuna, avocado, and sweet chili sauce on top. #kanpai

We went over there last night to try sushi and needless to say it was the worst experience. We had to wait over 45 mins for some sushi and when it was given to us it wasn't even fresh and the server looked like she didn't want to serve us and lied straight to our face that they don't have desert when I saw her serving it to another family. I will not be back and I won't recommend it to anyone.

The food is horrible. It is not edible. Fishy, fishy shrimp and zero vegetables in two dishes. Tiny sliced up fishy shrimp, I hope we do not get sick. Grub Hub reviews are so wrong. We struggle to find good Asian food in this town, other than Joss. What a waste of money.
