Truly the nicest human running this ice cream shop. And the ice cream is so tasty!! We walked in in a Sunday afternoon and no one else was in the cozy store, so we asked if we could taste every flavor. I'm vegan and from seattle, so felt like this might be my only chance. All their ice cream is vegan (cashew based), soy free, gluten free, and in an effort to keep sugars low, sweetened with dates. They obliged, and as we were tasting another customer walked in who joined in on the tasting party. Soon there were a handful more people. The baklava flavor was my favorite, the chunky monkey flavor had the perfect amount of banana flavor ("because we use real banana"), and the kulfi was a cardamom treat. The sweet potato pie was really impressive (because his son challenged him to make it into an ice cream flavor) and the horchata was the first flavor because his son had food intolerances as a baby. There were three or four flavors of cones you could get, and little premade ice cream sandwiches. If you can't make it to the scoop shop, this ice cream is available in Whole Foods in the wider area, and will be available for nationwide shipping in just a few weeks! I'm going to go into my local store and request that they carry it. Really cute shop, great ice cream, lovey humans. Would recommend!

This is the best ice cream I have ever had- vegan or not! I come here each time I visit Baltimore. This time, I got the passion fruit and it was insane, but every flavor is amazing. The owner is very friendly and service was great! Very cute aesthetic inside.

We were very excited to try this vegan icecream and it was worth the hype in the reviews. The gentleman who owns the shop was generous with his time, giving us tastes, and explaining flavors to us. He was very nice! The icecream is very, very creamy and just the right amount of melty. The flavors are quite sophisticated! Extremely fresh. We got the blueberry cheesecake and horchata icecream sandwich (on absolutely delicious oatmeal raisin cookies). We loved them both.Go support!!

If you haven’t been to Cajou Creamery and Café, you’re missing out! Located in Market Center in the Mt. Vernon community, I was pleased that there was so much street parking. The atmosphere is warm and artsy, the gourmet ice cream flavors are a party for the tastebuds, and the proprietor, Dwight, is a delight t engage with. I didn’t even set out to have amazing dessert today, but I’m so glad I found this place! I will definitely be back!!

Got a flight! 6 mini scoops of different flavors! So so good! Some flavors were pastelito, bourbon pecan pie, horchata, jamaican rum, baklava. Good service, cozy place.

It’s so hard to find ice cream that is dairy free and gluten free and without junk ingredients. Not to mention that tastes good. Well this ice cream is phenomenal!!! And the guy who owns it is very nice. I highly recommend! These 5 star reviews are on point!!! I got the funky monkey, which was amazing and then brought 2 pints home: the cortadita and the pecan pie- YUM!!!

Stumbled upon this place going to another business and it being plant-based caught our eyes! It's a small shop, but very welcoming and well decorated. The owner was welcoming and had a very calming presence. We tasted a few options but ultimately went with the blueberry cheesecake and pistachio guava. Next time I might just have to go for a flight of 6 flavors!

Cajou is absolutely AMAZING! First, before getting to the incredible ice creams, be warned that coming into this space will feel like coming home, so you may not want to leave! The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The owners treat you like they've known you all of their lives. Every time I come in, there's always good conversation, and the best greeting ever... "WELCOME FAMILY!"Now on to the ice cream! Like it says, it's plant-based ice cream, and it is the best ice cream I've ever had in all my years. The flavor combinations sometimes have me feeling like I'm walking on clouds, and other times, the flavors take me back to sunny days sitting on the beaches of Jamaica! Get the ice cream flight!!!Then the soups!!! I've had the Jamaican Red Bean soup and the Dahl soup. Both are 5 star dishes that could be served in the finest restaurants!DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET TO CAJOU NOW!!!Dietary restrictions: PLANT-BASED!!!!

Hands down one of the best ice creams I’ve ever eaten! The ice cream caters to those who have sensitive stomachs by using cashew milk while retaining the unique and delicious flavors offered! The owner is friendly and the shop is beautifully decorated with inviting colors and decor making this shop one of my favorites!
