Usually my favorite place to eat, until tonight… a total slap in the face.My partner got two medium well pit beef sandwiches and was DISGUSTED to see blood everywhere and all over the sandwich wrapper. The sandwiches were NOT medium well. They were raw and disgusting. And then I open my platter which by the way everytime I order from them the amount they put in these 14/15 dollar platters just keep getting LESS AND LESS I could see the bottom of the tray because there was barely anything in the platter! Disrespectful for a $50 order . Beyond irritated and upset.(Didn’t get a picture of the sandwiches but they went to my dogs ? so)

Great food, but the pulled pork sandwiches have definitely been on the decline. It was my favorite thing to get. It’s either too little or too much meat which ruins the bun. This last one I kept biting into hard chunks of something that wasn’t pleasant. I hope they can fix it and make it more consistent.

The food is always good. For me, I know that the food is cooked with love and pride. The service is amazing ? To top it all off, it is alway super clean. I wish every restaurant was like Chaps. Good job Chaps ??

Relatively new building.Classic old school Baltimore staple.Yes, it's in the parking lot of a gentleman's club. As seen on "The Wire".The Markie is the perfect union of beef, turkey, and sausage on a fresh roll. They have a huge sauce selection. Their horse radish is a little unusual in a good way. The gold bbq sauce is everything you want it to be.

If you're looking for a good Brisket this is NOT the place because they don't sell it. ??? That's what I was looking for and got disappointed. However, they have other options. I had their pit beef and turkey sandwich which was good with or without the BBQ sauce. I tried different sauces and of them, their House sauce hits better than any of the others. I didn't think I'd like any other sauce better than Sweet Baby Ray's but Famous Chap's sauce is by far better than Ray's!! It has flavor, a nice kick but not overly spicy, and it enhances the flavors of the meat.My daughter had the tenders. She loved them. She had some leftovers to eat for lunch. I took a bite of the tender so that I could write an honest review as my daughter has not quite gained the articulation to describe the flavors. Upon taking the bite there was a nice pop of seasoning flavor especially pepper but it wasn't overpowering. The batter to chicken ratio was perfect and the chicken was moist and delectable. These tenders can be enjoyed with or without sauce. The French Fries were a bit greasy and soggy. I couldn't enjoy them with the sandwich. I took them home, popped them in the air fryer on the open grate (this is so that as they cook some of the grease could drain off), reheated them, added some Himalayan salt, and the fries were much more enjoyable.I ordered an additional beef platter for my husband and I to have to eat later. It came with Pit Beef, FF, 2 slices of bread, and gravy. I got the gravy on the side and I'm glad I did. That gravy is tasteless. I added salt and still nothing. It needed some "Umph!," some "Pick Me Up!," and some "Sho You Right." That gravy was missing the soul that the Pit Beef has! I need the same care and attention to food to be paid all around. The cashier was very polite. The place was clean and I'm judgemental about places with clean floors and bathrooms. This place allows you to see the grillers when they're cooking which allows me to see the floors and they were clean when I stopped by. A clean kitchen means things have been sanitized. I like that. The music ? ? ? that was playing on the PA speaker was jamming. I was dancing while filling our drink cups.My overall take on Famous Chap's Pit Beef is 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5 Stars. We will definitely take this ride again. I'm adding this place to my favorites.Parking: There are a few parking spots in front and around but there aren't many. It'll be difficult to find parking if you come to the restaurant when they're really busy.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly.

This was seriously legit. We orders the chaps special sub, the pit beef sandwich and guy’s DDD sub. Honestly, every time I come to Baltimore, I am coming here and wish they could have this location in NY and FL. Insanely good and well deserved. Insane!Dietary restrictions: They say on a board what you can and can’t eat based on what they make. Thought it was thoughtful ?

Chaps has a new location adjacent from it's original structure. The New Location is very nice and staff was on hand constantly cleaning and restocking the condiments/soda areas. Ordering was issue free and timely. Food was hot and tasty. Like that you are able to exit through a different door, so as not to have to pass into the ordering line. Great experience.Parking: Off Street Door to Door
