Food was not good or attractive to eat. Buffet food looked as though it was thrown together. Main meat was chicken and at least 8 dishes only offered chicken with whatever mixed was used. I had much better Indian food.

Kumari in Mount Vernon is the best of the best! Been going here since 2015 and haven't stopped. It has amazing employees, a very peaceful atmosphere, and a wonderful food selection. If you go by yourself, I would recommend the buffet from 11-3pm. It has a great selection, complimentary chai and mango lassi, and usually two dessert options. If you're with people, I recommend the buffet again, but for dinner, I recommend sharing a few variety dishes. The dishes can get very spicy, so play it safe when you tell them your spice level. Also, this restaurant is great for vegetarians, but if you have allergy restrictions or questions, don't hesitate to ask. The employees are very kind and informative. In conclusion, go get some yummy food!

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience that combines great taste, variety, and a warm atmosphere, you simply must visit Kumari Restaurant in Mount Vernon! As my personal favorite, I can't help but rave about their lunch buffet. It's a splendid array of fresh, daily-prepared dishes that cater to every palate. Whether you're in the mood for a light soup and salad or something more indulgent, their menu is brimming with options. And let's talk about affordability. The prices are so reasonable, you'll be planning your next visit before you even leave! But what truly sets Kumari apart is the service. It's not just respectful; it's genuinely loving. Every visit feels like being welcomed into a family. So, if you're in the area and looking to treat your taste buds, come on over to Kumari Restaurant. It's more than just a meal; it's an experience that you'll cherish. See you there!Vegetarian options: The range of dishes is a culinary journey in itself. Imagine savoring the soft, garlicky goodness of garlic naan or biting into the crispy, flavorful vegetable samosa. The butter chicken, simmered in a rich tomato sauce, is simply divine. And the Govinda Manchuria—a tantalizing mix of deep-fried cauliflower, green peppers, chilli sauce, and onions—is an absolute must-try. Don't forget the onion and vegetable pakoras, Chana Masala, and the heartwarming yellow split lentils. For meat lovers, the chicken curry and lamb stew are unforgettable, while the stir-fried noodles with vegetables cater to those preferring something lighter. Accompany your meal with basmati rice, and wash it down with a refreshing mango lassi or the unique Nepali tea, my personal favorite.

The vibe is 10/ 10. Nice artwork inside the establishment you can definitely go on a date night here. Service was great our waitress was attentive enough. I had the biryani Indian style and it was great! The mango Lassi could've been a bit thicker for me but that was cool. All and all it was a nice place to chill after a performance at the School for the Arts.

This place is great. I ordered the Chicken Biryani. You get 3 options of heat on the food: Mild, Medium, and Spicy. I ordered the medium. It was delicious. The chicken was good and the rice was even better. (This is because I like rice, not that the chicken is bad.) The restaurant's ambiance was good. It was fancy and the building's architecture was very unique. The service was great and my server was kind and friendly. Overall, 5/5 stars. Would eat here again.

This place used to be great. The food was great and I ordered so often that they have my address based on my phone number. I'm not sure what happened but the quality of the food has gone way down in recent months.Lamb vindaloo and Rogan josh were amazing, so flavorful and complex. The vindaloo now tastes like tomato paste with hot sauce and the Rogan josh is so salty it's practically inedible. It's really a shame because I really used to look forward to ordering from here as it was a highlight of my week. It's a shame the quality is no longer at the level it once was

Got the chicken Tikka masala. The sauce was too sweet when I wanted savory or even spicy. Lassi came out of a gallon. It was my first time here and I came here on a desperate note as it's NYE and most places are closed. Other items may be good but i won't be

The lunch buffet costs $16 and offers various curry choices. Overall, it was enjoyable. My only suggestion would be for the Naan to be a bit softer.

Before you read further know that the food is fantastic. The Sagg is smooth with pallet cleansers of ginger, the butter chicken's flavor is spicy and the butter flavor comes out fantastic, the pakora is crisp even after delivery and the flavor is wonderful. I have yet to have a dish from this restaurant that I haven't enjoyed, and while on occasion the salt levels are a bit high, it's never enough to stop me from taking the next bite.If you want a flavor forward option for your dinner there isn't much better if an option.
