The menu has declined tremendously. I haven't dinned here in the last year and there are MAJOR changes. The steak selection is hardly a “selection” any longer. I had to settle for a NY Strip with a “peppercorn sauce” that nearly choked me. In all of my years of dining I've never saw completely whole peppercorns in a sauce. Not cracked or reduced. This was one of my favorite dining experiences unfortunately we won't be returning. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating while dealing with the new changes. I honestly felt bad for them, they tried their best to explain the decline of the Monarque but, it was really beyond their control.

I booked a reservation for 8 o'clock for my boyfriend's birthday and we sat at the bar for one drink and then got seated. The hostess sat us right by in front of the stage. We enjoyed the beautiful music of jazz band. The service and food were a definite 10/10. We had the gnocchi and escargot appetizers and they were wonderful. The gnocchi was the best. My boyfriend had the burger and I had the steak au poivre for our main meals and both were excellent! The burlesque performances began close to 10 o'clock and were very entertaining! Would definitely come back!

The experience at the Monarque was by far one of the most memorable, and rich experience to date for me! I am a Baltimore native, and was blown away by this establishment. Immediately upon walking in, we were kindly greeted with an offer to take our jackets. We were then escorted to our seats which were in perfect view of the stage where an amazing performance took place. Greeted by our server, who was warm and welcoming assisted us in our order and selection. From the time of being seated, and to receiving our plates was all within 15 minutes. The food was AMAZING, every. single. bite. Our glasses never went past a quarter full, and our server went above and beyond to satisfy us. We even received a complimentary Birthday dessert. The ambiance, and environments was wonderful. It was clean, unique and welcoming. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Looking forward to our return.

The service and food were amazing. Two things my husband and I didn't particularly care for. The first was the noise level which was ok after a while but we were seated right by the entrance which seemed as if we were on the way. There was a party that came in after us that would have been seated right across from us near the entrance, they asked to be moved, wished we would have had the option as well. Overall the experience was nice.

A very unique dining experience. It felt like I was transported to Paris long ago. The servers were on the mark and very knowledgable about the menu and made great recommendations. The food Very Good! I will be back the next time I'm in Baltimore.

Food and service was phenomenal. We enjoyed a great jazz band. Found out the burlesque show wasn't till 10 pm on the Saturday we visited. We came back and enjoyed some drinks at the bar. Was great for a girls night out.

Came here for my birthday. You will see the sign from the street and half to walk through an alley which is filled with outdoor seating for other restaurants. You need to keep walking u til you get to the end in order to get to the restaurant. Food was excellent. The house spread was fresh and served with goat cheese. Appetizers were very: broiled Brussels sprouts with blue cheese, mussels, and the short rib gnocchi. Recommend all 3 of these. Great taste without being over powering. My wife had the short ribs as a main entree which was very tender. It would split easily with just the fork. I had the roasted duck breast cooked medium. The skin was left on and was nice and crispy. Highly recommend this entree. Sides: mac&cheese, spinach, grilled mushrooms, and the bone marrow. The food was very good. Pricy, but you know that coming in. Service was top notch. We also came in early on a Wednesday and were the only customers. We had all their attention. Ambience was great. Felt like we were in a French Caberet.

Celebrating a special occasion always calls for a remarkable dining experience, and Monarque provided just that for my birthday dinner. This French-inspired steakhouse, nestled in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland, resonated with an ambiance of elegance and charm, yet remained inviting and unpretentious. Our culinary journey commenced with an exquisite Elle Jeannier cocktail, a concoction so perfectly balanced and full of flavor that it set the mood for the evening's splendid meal. For appetizers, the Seafood Tower was my choice--a marvel of the ocean's bounty that was so generously portioned, I couldn't manage to finish it. My husband opted for the truffle fries, which were nothing short of sensational, with a richness and aroma that only truffles can impart. Our main course was a tableau of hits and misses. The Loup De Mer was the undisputed star of the evening; each bite was a testament to the chef's mastery, easily earning a perfect score of 10/10. The duck breast followed closely, its rich flavor and perfect cooking earning it an 8/10. However, the chicken palliard was underwhelming in comparison, not quite meeting the high expectations set by its predecessors. Sadly, not all sides were to our liking; the Brussel sprouts suffered from over-salting, and the macaroni and cheese was disappointingly bland. However, the spinach and additional truffle fries were enjoyable and helped balance our culinary experience. A delightful surprise was the complimentary birthday dessert: a heavenly blend of ice cream, strawberries, madeleines, and caramel. Despite not usually indulging in ice cream, I found this concoction irresistible, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by my husband as well. In summary, Monarque possesses the core ingredients of what makes a dining experience memorable: remarkable service, an inviting atmosphere, and, for the most part, exquisite cuisine. While not every dish hit the mark, the excellence of others, like the Loup De Mer, and the thoughtful touches provided by the staff, such as the birthday dessert, ensure that Monarque stands out as a gem in Baltimore's culinary scene. This establishment clearly prides itself on endeavoring to present an unforgettable dining experience, and it succeeds marvelously. Our encounter with Monarque, meriting a solid four stars, was a celebration not just of my birthday, but of fine dining itself.

I love going to this place and this my third time visiting. For this evening we made reservation during the show times which is a great touch. The performers were amazing. The staff is attentive and they come around and check on the guests. The ambiance is amazing and is a great vibe. It can be a little loud but it's intimate still. What we we had Lettuce salad -9/0 Short rib gnocchi - 10/10 Petit steak - 10/10 Drink - 10/10 (I forgot the name but it was good)

There are so few opportunities to have a boutique dining experience so tonight was a pleasant surprise for a few business owners looking to have a once in a lifetime experience. We entered with the hopes of an opportunity to taste a few dishes and Chef Devon did not disappoint. Starting with white asparagus on a goat cheese paste and ending with the most tender duck confit we could ever imagine, each bite delighted the palate. For a six course tasting, we had an Increasingly delightful pairing of wines with each item. I would not only recommend this place, I would insist on it!

I love Monarque. I’ve been a couple times now and have enjoyed it every time. The best time to go is when the show is happening, which I believe is around 10. Reservations are a must. With that said, it’s very busy in there around that time so service does tend to be a little slower. Still great food and drinks, I highly recommend the Duck Breast out of the Main Entrees.

I really wanted to like this restaurant especially after all of the high reviews that I read. Maybe my standards are just too high. I don't like the menu and all of the specials they told us about, they later came back and said they were sold out. The drinks weren't good, the salad (lyonnaise) tasted like seaweed. The Brussels sprouts were burned to a crisp and very bitter. The burger was over cooked even though I requested medium. The dessert options left much to be desired. And, we were seated all the way in the back near the door so it was impossible to even see the show which was one of the reasons we opted to go there in the first place. They should have set the stage up in the center of the room in so that ALL patrons can experience the show. We were all freezing because it was cold and rainy last night and they sat us next to the door so it was drafty the entire night and we had to eat with our coats on. The service wasn't great; as I had to request ketchup 4 times and by the time it came, the fries were cold. Even the valet left much to be desired. This was my first and definitely last visit to Monarque.
