I REALLY wanted to like this place and was looking forward to trying it, but after our experience I would not go back nor recommend it. First, I'd like to note that the service and staff were perfectly friendly and made us feel welcome (they are why this review is not one star). The main problems were our food and drinks. My group ordered espresso martinis and a sangria. None of them were good and we could not finish them as the sangria tasted like cough syrup and the espresso martini was just...not good. Too much vodka, coffee didn't taste good etc. For food, we ordered the arancini to start. I've never had a risotto ball with such a hardened outer shell that it was tough to chew. The inside was fine, I just couldn't understand why the outer shell was so stale. For our mains, my friend and I had the chicken parm and our other friend got the mushroom risotto. I thought the chicken was fine- nothing special, but my friend thought the chicken had a weird texture. My accompanying pasta was VERY cold. The worst, though, was the mushroom risotto. My friend, who is not a fussy eater at all, had us all try it because she thought she was crazy, but she was not. The risotto tasted like the chef had literally poured an entire can of Morton salt into the dish. It was a step away from just eating salt from a spoon. We decided not to raise this with the staff because at the time it was very late and we just wanted to finish up and go home. I hesitated even writing this review because the staff was so kind, but this food was truly bad overall.

I've had friends say this place wasn't great and really fell short of their expectations given how cool the vibes were here....after going I now completely agree. The food was really bad given the ambiance, and the friendly staff. Whoever is cooking the pastas in the kitchen should probably know that spicy rigatoni in a vodka sauce shouldn't taste like a jar of ragu on cold rigatoni with some cheese on top. I was expecting it to be in a creamy vodka spicy sauce and be absolutely simple but decadent. (Think Carbone!) My fiancé got the chicken piccata gnocchi and it was "average" as he described it. The meatball was dry for our appetizer and we also ordered the braised calamari and beet salad. The calamari was okay if you like it un-fried, but it wasn't exactly how we expected it, but would give than an ok review because of the couscous pearls. The beet salad I thought would be more of an arugula salad with beet, goat cheese, walnuts, but it was literally just beets cut up on a plate with goat cheese in the center. It was so weird. The apps were not worth the price for the quality of the food. I will say, it was a Thursday night too and NO ONE was in there. Only people aside from us were the staff and one small group of people. This place is huge too!! Makes you think that the food is just not good if it's not packed on a Thursday leading into the weekend. We said we would only come back for the drinks because they at least know how to get that right. It's time to maybe look into hiring a new chef and getting a good PR team to drum up some good buzz for Osteria Pirata because this place won't make it otherwise.

I've been eyeing this place up for awhile now and saw the opportunity to eat here for Valentine's Day. The place is unique but not so much the food and experience. The waiter described the lobster dish and it didnt come out as explained although it was tasty it was your ordinary spaghetti with a lobster tail. They definitely need a system because everyone in our section kept being bothered by runners for food or drinks that didn't belong to them. Then our cheesecake took 25mins.. I hope yall take criticism because there's so much potential ?

Just had dinner here for a family birthday celebration. Had a lovely experience with the family, including our two year old. Service was exceptional, food was delicious, and they even surprised us with a signed card and champagne (+ club soda for our kiddo) for "birthday cheers." We will be back!

Worst service I’ve ever experienced! Bartender was awesome, friendly and mad one of the best espresso martini’s I’ve had. Appetizers were mediocre, then they cleared the tables and said they would reset it but it was 12 minutes after our dinner, which was mediocre and bland, and amd asking twoce before our utensils arrived ti aleat a now like warm dinner. As if we weren’t having a bad enough time, we had to ask our waitress for dessert and coffee and it was another 45 minutes before it arrived. Pistachio cheesecake was gummy, crust gooey and tasted like black pepper overwhelming the entire dessert. Very disappointed.

They were out of multiple items. The chicken parmesan was overcooked, the garlic bread had no taste of garlic. The potatoes were good and the server was nice but had to tell us that multiple items were out of stock. Would not recommend for the price point and you can travel 5 blocks for good Italian food at Little Italy.

Osteria Pirata was a lovely dining experience. We went for bottomless brunch where you can try various dishes on the menu in one meal. The food is outstanding and fresh. They cook everything from scratch so it will be a tad bit of a wait, however, I will gladly wait for the caliber of food that we enjoyed. The staff were all smiles and very attentive to our part of 7. The French toast with amaretto whipped cream was the stand out dish during our brunch but literally everything was delicious. I can't wait to return to try the dinner menu.

I’ve been here twice and both times I’ve had to wait for 1.5-2 hours for my food. Nobody was in the restaurant but the service was still slow. Food was not great and waiter was not the kindest.I have never written a review before but this experience made me want to warn people not to come.

Unfortunately came here for the first time and it might be my last. It took almost 30mins to get our drinks in and over an hour to get our food. Our table was understanding that our server had just started and that we also came in during restaurant week but if this is a gauge to check out an establishment, I unfortunately cannot recommend it.

A tantalizing treat for all your senses! From the ambience, to the thoughtfulness around plating, 5 stars across the board. This is a gorgeous spot for date night or GNO. The food is delicious and the service is impeccable. Do not skip dessert, trust me. Highly recommend the lasagna and chicken parm.

My friends and I came in tonight to Osteria Pirata for dinner and cocktails. Our waiter, Dan, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Two managers were present, Joe Breeden and Rani. It is an understatement when I say that they CATERED to us. Rani especially was amazing. She personally served us and made delicious shots which she recommended. The food overall was wonderful. We split the following options; meatballs, garlic bread, arancini, crab panzanella, caprese salad, short ribs, lamb pappardelle, 12 layer chocolate cake, tiramisu, and a lemon tart. All was fantastic! Service was 10/10, highly recommend!

One of the managers Joe invited a group of us in and I can't speak more highly of the service and the food. The GM Rani allowed us to explore the entire menu with excellent recommendations and knowledge of the dishes. Her and our server Dan provided such excellent service and every single dish we got, appetizer to entree to dessert was incredible. I'd like to highlight the pristine effort from Rani who made our experience one of a kind.
