Always enjoy our visits to Sammy's. Nice to see a big crowd on Saturday night. Excellent service as usual by Carly. Tasty chicken dishes always a favorite as are the salads. Look forward to our next meal there.

We discovered Sammy's Trattoria because of the close proximity to the Lyric. I am so glad we did. Everything about it has been amazing. The food and service is so spectacular, we had to share it with our friends from Michigan. They loved it too. It is our new favorite restaurant.

we were seated in the basement. it was freezing, many kept their coats on. it felt like a family's rec room. we arrived at our table with cut bread already there, no cover. it took at least 10 minutes to see someone come to our table. often felt we were invisible. not a good experience

Reservations at 4:30PM 24 Mar 24; seated right away, and drink order placed and received within 5 min. Warm bread brought out. We asked our server to come back for the food order in 15 min and he did. Appetizer arrived and before my wife could finish hers, her pasta dish was brought out. As we were at a small table, she had to hold her plate to finish eating her carpaccio. Tis was the only negative to the meal. We each had pasta dishes - fettuccini and Bolognese. DELICIOUS, but very large portions. We could have split one and had plenty. Could not take with us as we were going to a 7:30 concert. Tiramisu was very good as was the glass of Limoncello. Dinner, drinks, bottle of wine - under $160 for two and no tip was added to the bill, as we had read in a posted review. We left Sammy's at 6:10pm, plenty of time to walk to the Lyric. We would go again.

Server was quick with drinks and salad and then never to be seen again, other than talking with friends in serve area. MOST frustrating was the HOUR wait for food and need to ask another waiter for to-go box. We had symphony tickets and needed to go almost as soon as meal arrived. We did ask for check immediately, with the arrival of meal, which saved much needed time at departure. Food was fantastic, but extremely long wait for food- hummm. For a single person who needs to devote time on a laptop or phone, this would work.

Amazing food at very reasonable prices! I ordered the lasagna; my dinner companion ordered the risotto. Both were enormous and expertly prepared. Even though we were tucked into a small table by the kitchen, we were served promptly and attentively. A great spot for an excellent meal before an evening show or after a matinee. Five stars all around - highly recommend!!

Food is absolutely top notch and not overly pricey by post-pandemic standards. The service was a bit inattentive, though. Our waiter was stretched thin, yes, but also came across as a little disengaged. Maybe he's just a quiet guy, but we never got the glass of water we asked for twice. At least it was professional, no fake camaraderie. He actually boxed our leftovers for us, which I like. The place was pretty loud. Or there was a buzz to it. Depends on how you're inclined to view that sort of thing.

Wonderful experience at Sammy's from start to finished. From the hostess to the waitress and everyone we encounter in between treated my guest and I like we were family. The service was prompt without being overbearing. The food was delicious. I will definitely return when I'm in Baltimore.

Arrived at 6 PM for a dinner before an 8 PM BSO concert. Staff was very attentive to this need and was very efficient. Food was great, service excellent, and atmosphere was nice. We will return any time we visit the Meyerhof.

It was a show night so it was very busy. I had made reservations for 6:15 which I thought would give us plenty of time to eat and make it to the talk by 8. As it was we cut it close. We will definitely go again but I will make the reservation for earlier. As it was the appetizer didn't come out for almost an hour so the waiter didn't even charge us for that. What will bring us back is the food. Delicious.

Nothing satisfies our craving for homemade Italian food in an awesome atmosphere like Sammy's From Giselle greeting us at the door or John's Negroni from the bar , it just simply feels like home . Start with the signature salad at the table and explore from there. There are no wrong turns on the menu and the wine is priced fairly . The Mt Washington location is bustling with an energy that is reassuring to hope that one of our favorite cafes will remain here forever.

We came here as a 50 person team and this was my best experience at a team dinner so far. Ambiance was fantastic with a great Italian vibe. Seats were perfectly spaced out with nice place settings ready to go. The best part was that Valerie had everything ready for when we got there. There bread, salad and authentic olive oil on the table to start. The family style meal allowed for fresh warm food to come out to the table. It was so much better than the individual ordering because the food was ready and fresh. It also allowed for a great variety of food to come out for the group. From the salad to the meatballs to the pasta, it was all authentic and delicious. The best item was by far the chicken parm because it was thin sliced and perfectly cooked. I recommend all restaurants allow for this family style ordering and take notes from Val on how to cater to big groups.

I don’t EVER write reviews on restaurants, but when I tell you this is the best meal I have EVER had, I mean it. Not just the best Italian meal, but best meal ever. My husband and I both got the chicken parm with a side of the penne vodka. The penne vodka is an absolute MUST and the chicken parm is huge and melts in your mouth. I would pay $100 for this meal, no joke. The house salad is also delicious and of course their bread and garlic oil sauce is fantastic. I have been to both Sammy’s locations and have gotten the same meal and both are unreal, but I do think the original one on Charles street in Baltimore is better. Either way, you’re making the right decision. 10/10 service… never had a drink empty, everyone there was helping each other, and you can tell it’s a family environment. You’ll love it!
