Amazing dinner yesterday, I had the Squid Ink Pasta and Caesar salad. It taste really good and the quality was really great. Nice food portions and excellent quality of food. I also had some drinks. The cocktails were awesome and so refreshing. Menu was excellent and they have great portions too. Nice setting and pleasant ambiance.

Dining in a 19th century mansion in Baltimore is rather a unique experience. This dining room has huge mirrors on one side with huge murals on them. This gives the place a rather stately feel.Besides a large wine menu and classic cocktails, they have a handful of their own. I had a riff on French 75, and they reduced the sweetness for me, something I always appreciate. The menu is pretty typical Italian food. Our table shared the fried calamari, but it also contained onions and other vegetables which was a nice change from the usual. We shared the charcuterie board, which also contained fried artichoke hearts. That is a nice addition.I had the frutti di mare, which was served with squid ink pasta. The shrimp and calamari were plentiful and properly cooked, and served in a gigantic mound of pasta with cooked cherry tomatoes. It was good and a nice version of this classic dish. My companion raved about the duck, and the serving again was very large. The honey lavender salmon also was said to be good. If you don't like lavender, this may not be your dish.We shared a very nice creme brulee and cheesecake to end our meal. Again servings were ample. The service was attentive, and the place is quiet and sedate. The food does not have any surprises, but everything was good.

What a disappointing meal. Sotto Sopra has been a fine to excellent restaurant in Baltimore for many years, and we were confident to recommend it to a friend from Boston here for a medical conference. But it was Wednesday and we were one of only 3 tables in the restaurant with patrons. No one else ever walked through the door until they closed. The salad that two of us ordered was a special Pear salad. It had truly no taste, no seasoning, and no acid at all, despite being very wet. We asked for anything to liven it and after being given more tasteless dressing, we asked for some balsamic vinegar. That finally helped a bit. The pasta was no better. I had a fettuccine with tomato, spinach, and cream sauce. Ok but no seasoning at all. No garlic, herbs, salt, or pepper. And my colleagues the same. If they gad no chef why did they take reservations? Sotto Sopra Soooo very sad. Will not recommend again.

Excellent meal and prompt, efficient and helpful waitress. Ambiance was wonderful. Dining chairs were very comfortable. Portions were larger but not excessive. Perfect Saturday night dinner.

Sotta Sopra remains one of my all-time faves in Baltimore. The food is always incredible, with great cocktails and a terrific wine list. I especially love that the decor is the same as I remember it in the early 90s - it's a classic. I suggest it to all my friends who visit, and it's a go-to spot for a date night, pre-show dinner, and for Opera dinners! a Baltimore MUST DO.

Nestled on Charles street, I was excited to try this location because of the fresh pasta and experience nights they host. It was a quick reservation - I wasn't expecting it to affect the night. Food was very good - service was ok. Wish our server was a little warmer but I guess it was a long night. Bread service came long after appetizers. The food was truly the lifesaver of this night. Appetizer: Smoked Tomato Soup & Caesar Salad Main: House Carbonara $ Gnocchi with Risotto Dessert: Gelato Music was good too - we will come back to see if it was just an off night.

Swanky, but not pretentious. Excellent, accommodating wait staff. Get the dessert!

We had one night in Baltimore, we picked this stunning place and we were thrilled. William at the bar took great care of us, and we've been wishing to return! I'm vegan, and it worked for me.

The beau said "no more turkey" so we headed here the day after Thanksgiving for a date night before meeting friends. According to him this place has been around a while and has a great reputation so we decided to check it out. The cocktails were light and boozy. We ordered the salmon croquettes because I love a croquette. Honestly these weren't great. They literally tasted like a hot dog and the texture was way too firm and off-putting. We had a laugh about and then ordered our salad and pastas. The salad was nice and had lovely little fried goat cheese balls that we fought over. The pastas were excellent. Obviously made in house these were a delight. The beau had the pumpkin pasta with sausage and I had the veal agnolotti. Both were rich and a treat. For dessert we had the pistachio tiramisu which was non traditional utilizing the very trendy pistachio as the main ingredient. It was light and sweet. Like eating a cloud!

We had the opportunity to come during restaurant week and it was great. From the food to the ambiance just perfect for a romantic date night. My only gripe is our waitress was not very attentive to us. I won't let that be the determining factor for what was a wonderful evening can't wait to dine here again.

Service was a touch slow and our server seemed overwhelmed. It may have been because most patrons were headed to a nearby concert at 8pm. Therefore he was rushing to get them all oit on time. Otherwise, it was as always amazing ?

All these upcharges bc food is expensive, and then an upcharge if you pay with a credit card was a bit much.. the food is already pricey enough.

We had a wonderful Opera Evening at Sotto Sopra. The atmosphere was festive. We enjoyed most of the food. We would have preferred two options for the main course. They served a duck leg as the only choice. The singers were wonderful! Bravo!
