The Local Oyster Mount Vernon

They did a raw bar for my niece's wedding at a farm in Southern PA. Everyone raved. Oysters from True Chesapeake were spectacular. Perfect for the time before folks sat down to dinner. Ask for Jen or Nick.

The Local Oyster is closing Saturday, founder Nick Schauman said Monday afternoon.
Schauman started setting up his roving oyster bar at festivals and markets in 2013 and opened the first permanent Local Oyster location inside Mount Vernon Marketplace in 2015.

What a fantastic experience.Terran was our server and shucker of oysters. She was attentive, courteous and educated us on the different types of oyster available to sample. We took her advice and were absolutely blown away by the delicous oysters we sampled. The Bloody Mary was very unique, and the crab dip fries were as delicious as they sound. This establishment is on our list of places to visit when we return to Baltimore, and we are hopeful Terran will still be there shucking...read full review
