Food was OK very over priced. For an oyster restaurant they did not have a large selection of raw and grilled oysters. Food was under-seasoned. Drinks were good. They charged me $150 as a reservation cancellation fee even though I called TWICE and left 2 messages trying to cancel and move my reservation to the following day. Their explanation was "their voicemails are backed up... but I should have cancelled on the app."...My advice , don't make a reservation because the place is always empty...for good reason.

What an experience! So I decided to drop in at UO. So happy that I did. It was a nice vibe on a Wed afternoon. I started my meal with a Drink: Kingston Snow Day and a starter: Deviled Eggs. It was pretty good. The drink had me in a trance l, it was delicious and strong. The deviled eggs were good, not overly seasoned, just fresh ingredients. Of course I couldn’t leave w/o trying the oysters and all I can say is wow!! Delicious, fresh and the side dressings that come with them just enhances the flavor. These aren’t ordinary oysters, they taste exactly how they are described on the list. Add UO to your restaurant roster.

This is a cute spot! It's in Hampden, and if you know, you know. Let me start with a back story. I love the Baltimore Farmer's Market (thee best) and go as often as I can, given my work schedule. Well, this is where I was first introduced to the Urban Oyster. I would see them grilling oysters and was like...... Whoa! They were always a line so you know they're good. Fast forward and my girl mentioned 'the new restaurant'. Come to find out, it was The Urban Oyster she was speaking of. Say what?! So, yeah, that's how we got here. The spot was loud when we walked in, but I chalk that up to 1) The spot being new and 2) It was Saturday. It's also a bit small, but all you need is a table and room to eat right. However, when I went to the bathroom it was a squeeze to get by a few people both to and from. But let's talk about the food. We started with chargrilled oysters (of course). We tried them all, but I really liked the Cheese Louise and the Volcano! We also had some raw oysters. It's an Oyster spot, you must. I prefer the brine. They were good. I'm not an oyster connoisseur, but I do like oysters. For our main dishes I orders scallops and she got the bronzino. The scallops were over risotto and corn puree. It was a good dish. My partner raved over the Bronzino so I suppose it was good as well. I got a side of the soy garlic green beans and they were delicious! They were garlicy and seasoned well without being over-powered. They were tender, but not soggy. Again, DELICIOUS. My girl ordered the collards & cabbage, which was tasty as well, but not as good as my green beans. I also ordered truffle fries with an upcharged side of aioli sauce for dipping (you can't go wrong with fries). Oh yeah, drinks! I had a stout, which was just okay. The drink however, was very tasty. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of that one. We also tried the Bodega Kitty, which was not my vibe. I'm not really a tequila fan. So yeah, I see you Urban Oyster. It was good. We'll be back.

The atmosphere was inviting, and with a reservation we got seated immediately. The food was delicious, my favorite oysters are the Cheese Louise and Bbq cheddar bacon. The oxtail lasagna was amazing and so different from traditional lasagna. And the Red Snapper nuggets were soooooo good! It’s coated in this sweet n sour chili sauce and just melts in ur mouth. Will definitely go again.

I came here tonight with a friend to try their dessert as we’d had dinner elsewhere. I’m greedy so I had their Pineapple Upside cake which was warm and delicious, however, I took home their Smith Island cake which was SUPERB. The hostess “Sherilita” was wonderful telling us about the place and quickly seating us as well as we had a very pleasant server. The ambiance of the restaurant is simple yet classy and inviting as I’m quite certain to return to try their dinner menu.

Loved everything about my impromptu visit to the Urban Oyster. Things I loved: - the decor and ambience is just really nice. You can tell a lot of attention to detail was put into every aspect even down to the super comfy bar chair and well spaced out bag hooks under the bar...really cute! - the food I had...delicious! The raw oysters were SOOOO good (I'm not a fan a charred oysters so I didn't try any of those apps but the folks next To me were obsessed with theirs) - the deviled eggs were great (almost don't need the fried oyster on top) - the lobster cavatelli - really flavorful, like REALLY good flavor and the right portion size for me. - I appreciated the fact that the host was able to get my dad and I a seat even with no reservation on a Sunday afternoon (I know...who did we think we were?!) - the folks at the bar with us were also pretty awesome. On both sides of us were people who'd been before and provided excellent recommendations. They did run out of oxtail lasagna which is all I wanted...BUT that just means I'll have to go back To try more of the menu. I've been raving about my experience to my foodie friends and we're already planning an excursion Back to Baltimore with the urban oyster at the center of our planning!

Made a reservation before our show. Even with the reservation we waited to be seated. Started with the MINI DUCK CONFIT ROLLS and oysters. The duck was dried out, the plum sauce on top didn't make a difference. Chincoteague oysters are always a house fave. Not pictured: LOBSTER CAVATELLI: a little salty for me personally, lobster seemed to be seasoned as well as the rose sauce, cavatelli just before al dente UO Burger: ordered without cheese, came out with cheese. Had to reorder. Server was graceful

The good: the restaurant is beautiful. The bar area is really well done. The staff was friendly and were attentive. We sat at the bar and they took great care of us. The oysters were really great. They nailed it there. The 'eh': the other food on the menu was just ok. There was nothing I was terribly excited about and the prices were pretty high for what you got. I'd go back, but there are other restaurants I would go to first.

Overall the food was good! The cream of crab soup was too watery! Everything else was delicious. The service was great. The waitress was attentive and provided feedback on the dishes. It's very elegant and nice on the inside but small so make a reservation.
