“Great place in Riverside neighborhood to meet with friends for pizza and whiskey. Barflys has the best pizza that I have tried in Baltimore. The whiskey selection is great; however, the beer selection and other cocktails is limited—they focus on the whiskey. Service is good, the kind of service you get at your neighborhood bar.My favorite is the meat pizza, but you can build your own.“

The Cannon Room Bar • $$
Sagamore Pendry Baltimore, 1715 Thames St, Baltimore

“I'm going to call The Cannon Room a hidden gem, because you might not know about it (without reading about it on Yelp, of course). Even once we got inside the Sagamore Pentry, we had to ask for directions to the Cannon Room anyway, because it's tucked away in the back. But the ambiance, the comfort, the decor, and the whiskey selections are all top notch. There are some very good surprise finds on the menu, but unfortunately others know about them, and we were told some of those are often gone within a week. Customers not staying at the hotel will have to start a tab with a charge card. If you're looking for a higher-end whiskey experience in the area, this is your place.“

“We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night and the vibe was pretty chill, with groups scattered by the bar and at tables. We picked a table by the door and luckily there were heat lamps that kept us warm on a chilly late November night. The cocktails were okay, but the bartender did go out of her way to find olives for a dirty martini. We shared some plates, including a salad that was fairly straightforward and a couple of their classics. The cast iron mac 'n' cheese was nicely textured with some soft bites and crispy edges intermixed. The honey hot chicken was excellent! The brioche bun was soft, the chicken had a hint of sweetness and packed a nice heat that wasn't too spicy. If you're craving southern comfort food, Southern Provisions has a few dishes that might do the trick!“
