“Had a great lunch with my mom while in the area. Food was hot and came out quickly. I had shrimp salad sandwich and my mom had the French dip. Both fantastic. We were waited on by the bartender who was very pleasant and attentive. One of the bar patrons noticed a young girl in the parking lot with a flat tire on her bike. Some of the staff went and got tools and went out and helped her repair it and we thought that was a kind gesture. Will definitely be back.“
“We have been coming here for over 20 years. Food and service have gone through many changes, not all positive. Tonight was a big improvement. Server Brian was really awesome. Food way better than past several years. Need an actual wine list but at $5 a glass we can't really complain. Oh and the racing was fun too!“
“The food was amazing, nice big burgers the milkshakes were amazing. I got the tornado potatoes and they were also delicious. The service was very friendly and patient (they were crowded) the inside dinning are is a little cramped if you are trying to dine in and it was over $100 for 4 people which is a little high for me for burgers but they were really good . So I would probably go back with less people next time“
“Honestly. In my experience, if you get a crab cake at most restaurants in OC, they are quite often mediocre ( there are exceptions). I find if you want a terrific, all lump, fresh, properly seasoned crab cake, there are two carry outs, Uptown eats on the north end and Captain's Galley on the south end that have excellent crab cakes. We live nearby and get food from Captain's Galley regularly. Excellent crab cakes. They also have delicious homemade (I assume) potato chips (think Thrashers), excellent Cole Slaw and their Mac and cheese is out of this world! Highly recommended!“
“Came during the off-season looking for a good meal. We came for lunch and everything was amazing. The food came out so fast and was delicious. Our server James was super attentive and helpful. A must-stop, especially during the off-season when it’s calmer.“
“This was our first time at Shaka and I’m so upset with myself that it has taken us this long. The food, drinks and atmosphere was amazing. The pool was very clean and the perfect size. I would recommend you stop in at this little gem. We will be back!“
“My family and I stayed right next door the other year for the car show/cruise. Girlfriend's son wanted pizza and we decided to give this place a try. Hands down the best mozz sticks around !!! The pizza was beyond amazing, the staff were friendly, service was prompt and the atmoshpere was great. My wings and stromboli I shared with my girlfriend, was crazy good !!!“
“This place is an absolute staple for my husband every time we are down at the ocean. My husband makes sure that we stop at least once while we are here. but honestly, I am pretty sure that we stop multiple times while we are here. The atmosphere is family oriented; the food is fresh, and the drinks are cold. I personally love the cheesesteak, while my husband enjoys the pizza. We personally could not see ourselves coming to the ocean without stopping and getting our favorite pizza on the boardwalk.“
“Ordered food online 15 minutes before I arrived and it was ready for pickup when I got there. Staff was very friendly, restaurant is clean. The chicken cutlet sub was easily a 9 out of 10 rating. Good amount of nice quality, perfectly seasoned and crisp chicken, fresh toppings and tangy oil/vinegar mix (I hate mayo). The fries were a 0 out of 10, they were the god awful crispy coated type. Typically this is a sign of a cheap restaurant owner, but think it's just an honest mistake here. Crispy coated fries soak up a stale grease flavor, and I want my fries to be potatoes, salt and oil, not dextrose! Not only that but these were undercooked, but fully cooked they'd still be awful. Please get crinkle cut, straight cut or boardwalk fries, but you'll have to post a sign that you've changed because I'm not waiting $4.xx on fries again. I've previously had pizza here too and it was top-notch. I'll be back!“
