I will give two stars because our server was very good. Thank you Julia. When you walk in, the first thing you see is the raw oysters on ice in a blond wood encasement next to the reception. I love raw oysters and I have no problem seeing them as I walk in, but when I looked down below the casing, the bottom of the wood all along the front was very dirty. It really needs some attention. Anyway, I was so excited to have the duck confit nachos only to be super disappointed. They looked very lackluster and the flavors were non-existent. Visually it was flat and limp, no color but for a few sprigs of cilantro that was also limp. It needed a fresh element (fresh jalapeno or some pickled red onions) and the duck confit should've been the star of the dish, not buried under a bunch of cheese. I didn't care for the BBQ sauce either. It's been many years since we've been here and it used to be a place we went to for several years and always enjoyed it. Not so much anymore.

Oyster and mussels were good and that is the real reason why I gave 2 stars. A member of my party ordered a chicken sandwich that came out raw. We made the server aware, they took the sandwhich and said they would correct the issue. Well a few minutes later they came back with the same piece of chicken that I had taken a bite out of, cooked. Which only leads me to believe they removed the chicken from the sandwich and placed it on a cooking surface to finish cooking, I don't know about you but seems extremely unsanitary to me. Never experienced that before in my life.

Food is getting worse and worse over the years. I've been going since they opened and it was probably a 4 out of 5 stars and the burger was great. Now I only go when I have to. Had the burger last night and I probably would have enjoyed a shake shack burger more.

Definitely one of the best burger & fries in the area! Been going for years and it has remained consistently good.

The food was outstanding. Friend and I left so full we couldn't even try a dessert. The oysters were delicious as was the beet salad and fish. No compliments about the cocktails either.

Our server Felix made our entire Valentine's Day evening so so special. He recommended the best entrees and apps and made us feel like his only table. Will absolutely be dining again

I'm afraid we did not come out happy. My sweetheart wanted to go there to celebrate Valentine's so I accepted. The pork chop was tough. The seafood in my bisque was tough and I could not eat the fish. The soup was OK, but not yummy. The bread brought to table was bad, cold and tasteless...no problem with the butter. I took a friend there the week before for his birthday. It was the first time in a long time that I had been to Blacks. We both had the french steak with chimichurri and fries . I do a better job at home and I am no gourmet chef. The best part of both meals was the CALAMARI starter, and your staff was very helpful and pleasant. After last night, we decided that Woodmont Grill is much better and we probably will not be coming back to Blacks. So sorry.

Our food and service were excellent. Perfect location and menu for a relaxing Saturday evening dinner. Good wine selection - moderately priced. We will definitely return when the weather is warmer to take advantage of outside seating.

It was okay. The service is top notch, some of the best we have experienced. The food was nothing special. My husband's steak was rare and not medium rare as requested. Since the steak is served sliced I was surprised this was an issue. My scallops were cooked well but lacked flavor, the mashed potatoes were also flavorless. The beurre blanc was the best part of the dish but there wasn't enough of it. We got two drinks, both were good, but full of ice bits from not being strained well. I used the women's room, one stall was clogged, another had a pile of toilet paper in the corner. I let the hostess know the women's restroom needed attention and she seemed very taken aback by this. I can't blame her, the restroom was in rough shape for it only being 6:30pm. I wouldn't go back, there are better restaurants for the price.

My only complaint is that when the bill came it had an extra 4% charge for “non-cash” payment. At $36 for a dozen oysters they can afford the 2% their credit card servicer charges. It is not 4% that they pay. It's a new policy and customers should revolt. I asked the waitress to bring the manager over and she said he declined.
