This is a charming neighborhood restaurant with nice potential. Sadly was a miss on the night I went. I had the lasagna dinner for two which included salad, lasagna, pana cotta and 2 glasses of wine for about $50.00. I do have to say this is a bargain, I just wish the food was better. First, let's talk about the bread. It was homemade, nice crust and soft interior. This and the wine, were my favorites. The salad was overdressed making it inedible. The lasagne was only lukewarm. It definitely needed some Italian seasoning in the sauce and some fresh basil on top would have livened it up. Service was a little off.

We ate there last night for dinner. It was a forgettable experience. The waitress came to our table within two minutes of sitting down and taking our order. She took our drinks orders and immediately asked if we were ready to take our orders. I didn't even get a good chance to look at the menu. I said I wasn't ready, but she continued to order from the other folks in the group (4 total) and completely dismissed me. Then she got to me, and I had to repeat myself. She then asked if we wanted to order appetizers. So, the whole process was backward. She left and came back a few minutes later, and I ordered the slamon with spinach and fennel. The food took a while to arrive, but it still cane before our drinks. She salmon had no flavor except for salt, although it was topped with balsamic glaze. The lemon was the only thing that saved it.When the drinks artived, we were almost finished with our food. I ordered an old fashion, which was simple enough, but it was made wrong and tested awful. So, I sent it back and had it removed from ourtable.Overall, I felt as if the restaurant didn't know if it wanted to be Italian or Argentinian because of the dishes on the menu. I felt rushed to order and the food was overpriced because because it was in downtown Bethesda.

I made reservations ahead of time for Valentine's Day and we were immediately seated. We ordered the pizza del campo, ravioles 4 quesos, rigatoni frank sinatra and the fettuccine alla bolognese. The service and atmosphere were excellent. The only comment I have is that the sausage was missing from our pizza. Otherwise, I'd recommend La Panetteria to anyone looking for good Italian food!

Warm hospitality, delicious recipes and attentively plated and served. The atmosphere is like an Italian villa setting. This restaurant could command and extra digit on the bill in NYC, but is comfortably here in Bethesda. We drive from Olney to enjoy this restaurant. Executive Chef Hector is highly skilled, and very personable. Don’t miss the new brunch offerings on weekends.

Favorite Italian food in Bethesda. The penne aka vodka is so good!

Pretty bad food over all. The worst pizza I’ve eaten in at least 10 years, possibly my life. Too doughy, bad taste, everything that can be wrong with a pizza was wrong. No one had more than 2 bites. The pasta was bad too, but not nearly as bad as the pizza. I hate writing such negative reviews, especially because the staff and owner were not mean or rude to us in any way, but the pizza was so bad, I had to say something. I hope the team reads this review and makes some changes because yikes the food is bad.

HIGHLY recommend La Panetteria! Food was incredible. I had the mushroom risotto and dulce de leche pancakes. Malbec and espresso were also delicious. Service was impeccable. La Panetteria has a very familiar, cozy feel with beautiful decor serving elevated cuisine. It became one of my favorite restaurants in one night. I celebrated my birthday here and it was super special.

If you're a person that likes to read reviews, stop here and try this place! This has become one of my favorite places to eat on my first time here and I've been to hundreds of restaurants. For starters I tried the meatballs and calamari. The meatballs were tender, flavorful & I believe they were pork. My calamari was tender, perfectly seasoned and lightly breaded. The meatballs and calamari came with the same rosé type sauce, it had a nice kick of sweetness, cream and tomato sauce, it was honestly delicious and I fell in love with it immediately.I had the risotto ettore and holy moly it was a game changer! The rice was tender, the black truffle was the perfect amount and not overpowering and the cheese was pully and not too over powering. I felt like I was I heaven when I was eating it. I was honestly worried that the truffle would be too much but it wasn't so I was very happy about it.We also had the petto pollo al masala, it had a sweet flavor that was so tasty. The chicken was thin and juicy with mushrooms on top that were delicious. There was a side of cut potaoes that had some sort of seasoning that was really good and not salty but very savory. There is also live music once a month by Emmanuel Trifilio, I spoke to him and he's a great guy with soothing music. I definitely recommend stopping by to have a great meal with some wonderful music.Overall I definitely recommend checking this spot out, everything including the food and atmosphere were amazing and the food was over the top.The one downside is that the bathrooms are not handicap accessible and part of the restaurant was not either.Parking: Pay with ParkMobile at garage 40.Wheelchair accessibility: Bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible.
