Went there for a small birthday celebration. The atmosphere was nice. The music was good. The seating is cozy, but the food and the drinks are ridiculously overpriced for no reason. They are located in a grocery store shopping center and are charging almost $30 for one drink and from what I understand the meals are overpriced as well. I will not be returning nor will I recommend this spot to anyone else. We needed something like this in our area, but I am disappointed. I couldn't see anything about that place that warranted those prices.

This was my first time here. My friend and I went for dinner and drinks. We arrived at 6:15. No one was there yet. Service was a bit slow, even with no one there. However, the drinks and food were tasty. We spoke to the owner through the night and he was very welcoming and personable. The aesthetic of the restaurant is nice. It's well thought out as to vibes and design. HERE'S WHERE THE NIGHT BECAME UNENJOYABLE AND GHETTO. The music- although great, was entirely too loud around 11:00. We left because of this. We couldn't hear our waiter, couldn't hear anything around us and couldn't continue to talk to each other. It was just at an unnecessary volume, especially because at 11:00 the restaurant was only half full. More people had come in but not enough to have the music so loud. No one was dancing. It was way too much. There were children present. Not sure why kids are in a lounge at 10 pm, but they were. Even running around at one point. Dropping stuff on the floor and making a mess. Ruined our vibe. Then as we were in the parking lot walking to our cars, people literally ran out the lounge yelling and flailing their arms about some not paying their bill. There was a couple walking behind us that had also just left. We didn't know who they were yelling at. Turns out they were yelling and screaming at me and my friend!! WE PAID AND TIPPED ON OUR $225 BILL. So this was soooo cringy and unacceptable. Just tacky and ghetto. The main girl that was chasing us flailing her arms looked a smoking mess. The audacity to accuse someone of not paying the bill, loudly running out after them and be DEAD WRONG. SMH. I showed her my receipt. She looked so DUMB. She started laughing and sounded dumb AF. She said sorry as she ran back into the lounge. Nothing about wrongly accusing someone of not paying their bill and causing a ruckus about it is funny. I won't be back. Update to comments: I have no reason to lie about any part of my review. The children there were running back and forth. That's a fact. If you have cameras, I suggest you pull the footage. As to your employees and an officer chasing us down and yelling about we didn't pay. That's also a fact. You must do better. I have nothing to do with your inability to be sure payment was taken. Nothing about chasing and yelling people down is professional or acceptable. Take accountability for these issues and don't blame the paying customer.

CK Lounge in Bowie, MD, is a vibrant spot for delicious West African cuisine, owned by the dedicated Precious 'Mo' Okolie. The ambiance is perfect for dining and hanging out, offering a unique blend of flavors and a welcoming vibe. Mimi, the standout waitress and soon-to-be GM, elevates the experience with her kindness and exceptional service, ensuring every guest leaves with a smile. A must-visit for anyone seeking great food and a fantastic atmosphere.

The best thing about this place was the music and the atmosphere. If you're going just for that vibe then please go. They have a hookah vendor on site for $65 if that's your thing. I was disappointed in the menu. It was very limited and on top of that you're forced to by a bottle of wine or champagne because they don't sell It by the glass. Specialty drinks are $19 and up and not worth It since it's watered down. I did appreciate our waitress. She was very accommodating and flexible with exchanging or removing items we weren't pleased with. The suya was really good and they have a generous amount. The jollof was good, mildly spicy. It took about an half hour for my spinach to come out. I cancelled It but the waitress still gave It to me to go. It was really good. I would like to see more food items added as well as wine by the glass.

My husband and I visited CK on a Saturday night around 10:30PM. We ordered the shawarma, jollof and turkey pepper sauce. The food tasted like Lagos ?. On point! The DJ was great, the owner and entire staff checked in to make sure we were okay AND Eni our server was amazing. Attentive to our needs, friendly and just overall great service. Highly recommend this place for good music, quality food and service.

CK & Lounge is a cute lounge, tucked away in a mall strip. Service was good, very beautiful ambiance, unfortunately I did not try the food. The music was Afo beats and it was nice

This establishment is pleasing to the eye, it's a bit tight in there because they're trying to put a table in every area.Wings were ok, a bit expensive for four wings, the yuka was cold in the middle smh and we were charged alcohol tax, but no one ordered alcohol. What's that about? Alcoholic beverages were overpriced, in my opinion.Service could've been better and a little faster, but I think the young man was wearing multiple hats that night. He was doing a little of everything. It's not exactly what I was expected for a lounge. We ended up going to Blue Sunday for more wings and drinks.

First time here, and I honestly disliked the establishment, and I had high hopes. The food and liquor were lackluster. My friend has dietary restrictions to which they claimed to cater to, but in reality, they didn't. We both ended up with food poisoning the next day. We did notice improper hygiene when staff prepared our food. The service was not the best. Staff serving us were rude and took forever to give us our drinks. We should not have waited as long as we did for our food as well. The atmosphere was basic, and the smell of the place was off-putting. We're used to top-notch city lounges, and with a few exceptions, the place looked like someone made a trip to the Dollar Tree and Party City and decorated. Not all the lights were working, the bathrooms were disgusting, and some of the guests were creepy. The DJ might have been the only thing going for this place. But then again, what do expect from a lounge located at a strip mall? There's an odor that we thought might have been mold or mildew. Mix that with sweat/body heat, and it's a wrap. 30 minutes in, we wanted to leave, but again, we wanted to be fair and give this place a chance.During our time here and the more we mingled with regulars, we were surprised to hear how sketchy the lounge is - and the guests who are okay with it. Here's what we learned:- The liquor is hit/miss, and they don't don't even purchase the alcohol directly from distributors as they're supposed to.- Staff aren't getting paid, and some of them complain to guests or complain amongst themselves.-There are employees who aren't employed the legal way; there's staff with no papers.- The vetting system here is appalling; underage drinking is a problem here especially especially women under 21.Dietary restrictions: Their food options do not cater to dietary restrictions. Vegans, vegetarians, gluten-free and dairy-free individuals beware that you risk cross contamination here.

From outside, it's not much to look at-located within a strip mall, not what one would imagine when hearing, but inside is transformative- swanky, classy vibe- with intimate seating choices, sultry lighting, beautiful decor- the ambiance definitely felt expensive. Sexy date night spot-Menu has ample choices-ranging in styles of dishes (stews, platters, soups, sides, etc) & types of sauces (& varying heat levels)- priced a bit on the higher side, but after seeing a range of the entire menu I would say the quantity & quality is worth the price. Each dish has thick pieces of meat- whether entire cuts of fish, large chunks of goat, or juicy chunks of chicken/beef-the meals were hearty portions (only woe- as the fish was large full fish pieces, lots of bones- takes a bit away from sexy date night when I found myself spitting out or picking for bones constantly)There wasn't a dish I didn't enjoy- top 3: seafood okra, ghost pepper goat soup, & yam bread (so dense & delicious)- the flavor profiles were so unique for each dish- powerful bold seasoning- large portion (easily two meals per dish)worth a visit if you'd like a different new date spot! hosts were fantastic; friendly, everything cooked fresh to order & they are attentive & welcoming while waiting :)

I am thoroughly impressed with this place. My sister found this place on TikTok so we decided to try it out. Moe and Curtis were the perfect host. The wings, fish soup and drinks were amazing. Great find!!!

It's a beautiful atmosphere. It was awkward as to where to stand and no place to sit.
