Had taste for some fried whiting tonight and decided to venture over to this new location and give them a try. The restaurant was clean and we were greeted by the host as we entered the restaurant. I just love the consistency with the details with the decor- such a lively and colorful atmosphere. The restaurant was busy which was expected but the line moved rather quickly. My fish was fresh. Nice and hot just the way I like it and seasoned very well. My cabbage, yams along with 2 additional sides of corn and potato salad were also delicious. While standing in the line we were offered to try the plant based options they offer, which were surprisingly tasty! The meatballs and the pepper steak were delicious. I would definitely opt for these on a future visit. My husband just ordered the fish basket with fries and also helped me with all my sides. There was plenty for two and even enough for some left overs. All in all we would definitely venture back for a future soul food cheat meal... Happy Yelping!

Decided to get fancy and try something new. Imagine my surprise when I opened the California catfish with crab meat and shrimp. The description should be changed to specify you get a pinch of crabmeat and one piece of shrimp.

I had to wait a little for them to make more chicken however the manager was very good at making my experience pleasant. This location has a very attentive and accommodating manager. This location is much better than the Largo location.

I'm a fan of the Hyattsville CK so you can imagine my joy seeing it open in Cap Heights. The first day I went there on a Sunday afternoon about 2pm. Waited about 1 hr 30 minutes for my food but I realized church folk were involved so I decided to come by on a weekday instead for a salad during my lunch break. Spent the whole break in line and still had to leave with no food. Again came by today during my lunch time for salad. I stood there with no one to attend to me. Several employees walked right on by, most of them seemed lethargic. Some were eating their own food while serving customers. So three strikes, I'm out. Food is pretty good but service is extremely slow & subpar. If you are really hungry, this isn't the spot for you.

2 out of 5 employees seemed enthusiastic to have a job. The others seemed impatient and annoyed to be there. When food is this pricey, people expect friendly service. Then when you ask for something you should've recieved anyway , they shouldn't be annoyed. I asked for the bread , which was in a huge lovely pile behind the cashier. She says"bread?We don't have any...." I point to it and she says "oh". I would expect this from a Chipotle or McDonald's maybe. Additionally, we ordered vegan options from the vegetarian section and asked for rice. We were told rice was on the non vegetarian section and instead of him walking 3 feet to get it, we needed to get back in line on the other side..... wow. Small things that made the experience less positive.I do love the decor and interior/ exterior was clean and well maintained. Food was delicious. Just expect a little better service.

Welcome! Welcome! This place was 10/10 in all aspects! The ambience was welcoming and warm. Like coming home almost from the hostess to the bar staff, cashier and servers they were friendly and attentive. The dinning room was open and clean. There were various people dinning and the staff would come around to check on everyone even though it's more of a takeout/self-serve vibe. Okay star of the show.. the food!! Y'all. The food was delectable, like perfectly seasoned crispy whiting. The greens were so good and tender. The max and cheese was gooey and crispy around the edges sooo cheesy! The cornbread... oh my god... the cornbread. A crispy sweet cinnamon topping with moist inside served warm! my friends got the fried chicken and agreed everything else was absolutely delicious! Skip the lemonade :/ probably my only thumbs down. It was straight sugar lol I added an entire cup of water to my lemonade and it was still too sweet. Other than that everything was perfect!

This is the absolute worst carolina kitchen I have ever went to. They have a lot of kids working there so the food is always sloppy and spilling everywhere. I came last sunday and the owner was in there he was such an asshole the line was backed up the female taking orders was so slow she acted like she couldn't hear anything I was telling her. Overall this was the worst experience i've ever had coming to carolina kitchen I love the one in waldorf the service there is great but I don't think i'll be coming back after running into the owner "Dr, London"

Ordered the chicken and tried the vegan hamburger helper. Chicken was good, but the hanburger helper was excellent.
The “manager” think it’s appropriate and best business practices to allow 1 staff member to take and prepare orders for a line of people while she make personal plates for herself. Not once did she offer to assist the very hard working young man who was clearly overwhelmed with orders. She also left the cash register unattended while another staff relieved herself to go to the rest room. There was also another lady out of staff uniform making personal side plates while there was a full line of customers. So odd and off putting.

Ok Carolina Kitchen!! I was impressed with the plant based menu!! This vegan appreciates that. The staff is led by an incredible female that gives you the best greeting as a first timer. You go girl!! Now I will say I've been twice and the first time the food was a bit on the salty side. Not so much the next so we shall how things progress. I learned this is black owned so if you are looking to show support a black business, you found it.

This location has become my favorite of them all. The team is so nice and helpful! They’re knowledgeable of the pricing and options available. They’re willing to go the extra mile to ensure you’re taken care of from door to the door! Roger has a special place in my heart. He was so helpful in walking me through the vegan options. I was able to sample the Kale and Chickpeas. I’m not vegan but I plan to go back for that dish ASAP! Everything is fresh - be patient on timing as the service and quality of food require a little extra time. Overall, I’m happy to see REAL customer service coming back. This establishment was known for that when they first opened and it feels that way at this location. Please keep up the great work! ❤️✨ I always feel WELCOME WELCOME WELCOMEDDDDD! :)

Listen Idk why they only have 3.5 but thissssss is fiya!! Let me tell yall I am a carolina kitchen fan all day and I own my own restaurant so I haven't been in awhile but I had a great experience. The staff was just amazing! Rodger who fixed my meal for me omg such a beautiful person! He was so so nice! There was also a young man named Tavorion who was in the lobby he was soooo pleasant! It was refreshing to see a young person so well mannered. From the manager to the young lady ringing up your food were all simply warm and inviting. I'm telling you get here!! Just come when its not as busy you will absolutely enjoy it!!! The photos are of my plate and the Mr.'s after he devoured it. It was just dam delicious!!!!Vegetarian options: The yams were bomb!!
