Major props for treating gluten free bread as the half-sized slices they are. This is the first place I've been to that spreads the sandwich contents across two small sandwiches. Every other place either attempts to stuff the insides onto puny slices (rarely) or more likely, simply gives you less. In those places, not only are you paying through the nose for GF bread, but you then get less food for the privilege. NOT SO at Atwater's. On top of delicious creations, you also get generous servings and can enjoy your meal like anyone else. Coincidentally had two meals in 3 days here and will be back!Dietary restrictions: GF

Absolutely what you would expect at a local coffee shop. Personable barista, quiet, Great coffee, pastries and fresh baked breads in a relaxed setting. I did walk in at 4:10 pm on a Friday. I did not eat lunch here but next time the Scottish chicken pot pie looks delish.

Takes 30-40 mins for my online order for an iced coffee to be made. Multiple times my order is “forgotten”. Coffee is good but not worth the wait.

I'm extremely disappointed by my experience as a Catonsville local. I had yet to visit Atwater's and decided I'd make it a point to visit to have breakfast on my birthday (today 3/19/2024) as I enjoy supporting local places when I can. The staff were nice, but only one plate came out after we'd been there for 40mins with no silverware. I then had to ask for an update on the rest of our food (add an additional 10mins) only to have to ask again for silverware. My order was wrong but I brushed it off only to realize the eggs were too salty and pancakes were oddly too sweet with syrup. I was excited to try a place so close to home and do not see myself returning. The environment was nice and charming but my overall experience left much to be desired especially seeing everyone else being served with seemingly much better service. I'm not sure if it was an off day, if there was something else happening, or if race played an issue. But I did feel important to note my experience as everyone I've spoken with has raved about it. I'm not sure if there's been changes with the location or if other locations are better, but I have been sorely let down after being so excited.

The atmosphere is very inviting. It's clean and bright inside. The staff is friendly as well. Service was good, as the staff was attentive and helped me through the menu. Now to the issue at hand. I ordered a Reuben without sauerkraut. I never check my food until I get home, so when I got home and opened the foil, I saw pale meat between the bread. It was called a Fells Point Reuben, so I figured "maybe Fells Point restaurants must make it with Turkey". So I called the restaurant and the young lady apologized and offered to make me another sandwich the correct way(I appreciated that). So I go back for my new sandwich and get home only to find that it is proper corned beef, but it had sauerkraut on it. Very disappointed, didn't feel comfortable calling again for another sandwich so I chucked up the loss and threw the sandwich a way. A waste of money, I'll give them another chance but I for sure was mad that day

My husband and I visited Atwater's today hoping to enjoy delicious, healthy meal. I noticed many of my fellow Yelp Elites enjoyed this place, so I figure I would too. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed and highly doubt I will return. My husband ordered a Grilled Corn Beef Reuben without Sauerkraut, while I ordered the Field Green Salad with grilled chicken. After driving away, my husband took a bite into his sandwich which a face full of confusion. Turns out, he was given the Turkey Reuben instead of the Corn Beef Reuben. He called the restaurant to inform them of the mishap and the nice young lady on the phone apologized and offered to make him the correct sandwich, which he agreed to. Unfortunately, his second sandwich was still incorrect, as he ordered the Grilled Corn Beef Reuben without Sauerkraut and the sandwich had kraut . The Field Green Salad I ordered was just ok, as it was missing the apples. I definitely would have enjoyed it more as the apples would have added some crunch and a bit of sweetness. They were also out of the mixed greens that normally come in the salad, so they substituted arugula, which completely overpowered the dish. Needless to say, after spending over $50 on what we thought would be a quick, easy and thoughtless dinner, we're not happy. Neither of us finished our meals meaning we have to venture back out to spend more money. Sure, the staff of friendly, but that no consolation for receiving an order you didn't pay for.

We were meeting family for brunch and have been to other Atwater's before, so went to the one in Catonsville. This location is super cute and looks over the historic downtown area. The space is bright and welcoming as were all the staff. The food was wonderful and we enjoyed our spirited morning cocktails too! Can't get those at our local spot. After, we wandered and shopped the area, perfect for a weekend morning.

I bought a chocolate cake to go which turned out completely inedible. It's more coffee flavoring than chocolate. A complete waste of money. The description should have said something about the overwhelming coffee taste.Edit: the "chocolate" cake was, in fact, a mocha cake with a plaque up marking it as chocolate cake. I was given a carrot cake as a replacement, but the sign marking the coffee cakes as chocolate is still there.

Food great, friendly people. Great service. You may need to wait an additional 30 minutes. Before you pick up your food. Because they can get overwhelmed.

Great place to meet up with a friend! Not many cozy corners, but you can bring your laptop or book to an upstairs table. Good wifi, medium sound level, lots of activity. The range of sandwich/soup choices is excellent and the salads are worth eating! Baked goods are fresh and abundant, bread loaves are beautiful. Well-made coffee and espresso drinks -- my cortado was great! Nice detail to have local coffee and jam options for sale, a cold case for fresh local vegetables, and local art upstairs.
