I paid $50 for two small crab cakes it was cold, and I had about ten fries on my plate and six hush puppies. I don't mind paying for something decent and presentable. I will return but not on Sunday…Crab cakes and hush puppies were delicious as always…Parking: The parking garage was great and I took the elevator to 3rd floor

Left Annapolis to go find a good spot to view the Worm Moon. We did that and then we found a spot to eat by google. We found 1936. Got a few appetizers and a few cold beers. Everybody was very friendly period the food was delicious and fairly priced. Excited to go back and try some of the cocktails.

Disappointed. We love this location, our server was polite, and attentive. We got wings, salad, the foot-long, and calamari. It was Sunday, and there was one other table being served, and three people at the bar, so it was slow. There were also three other employees lounging around the greeter's area. The wings were almost cold, and dry, with no flavor whatsoever, it's like they dumped the wings out of a bag of frozen wings, and over cooked them. No seasoning, nothing. Totally bland and the sauces were mediocre. The foot-long was cold, looked like they had taken a handful of sort-of-chopped onions, some day-old stale buns, and they must've been almost out of chili because it was sparse, dry and way too salty. The calamari was cold, not warm, cold like it had been under an AC vent, rubbery, and looked like someone really didn't give a crap how it looked on the plate. The salad was nice and fresh and crunchy and by far the only enjoyable part of the meal. I'm hoping it was an off day for them, because we love the location. We won't come back for the food.

Food was really good but we had to wait more than 50 minutes for a fried chicken sandwich and the 39 burger. The place wasn't crowded at all, very noisy (the acoustic is terrible) but the staff was really nice and helpful!

Stepping into 1936 feels like being transported to a bygone era, with its unique setting on the waters of the Chesapeake offering a serene and almost magical dining and drinking experience. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance of 1936 captivated us with its charming blend of rustic and nautical decor, creating a cozy yet elegant vibe that's perfect for both casual gatherings and romantic evenings. Our visit was made even more memorable by Jenna, the manager, who attended to us with exceptional care and professionalism. Her attention to detail, knowledge of the menu, and genuine warmth added a personal touch to our experience, making us feel welcomed and valued. Jenna's recommendations were spot on, guiding us through an impressive selection of drinks and specialty cocktails that were both innovative and delicious. Each beverage was crafted to perfection, showcasing a blend of quality ingredients and mixology expertise that 1936 takes pride in.The food menu, although we only sampled a few dishes, was equally impressive, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that pay homage to Maryland's rich culinary traditions. The dishes were beautifully presented, and each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and creativity. What sets 1936 apart is not just its stunning waterfront location or its delightful menu but the impeccable service led by Jenna. Her ability to make guests feel at home while providing a top-notch dining experience is a rarity. The bar itself, with its history and character, provides a backdrop for unforgettable moments, whether you're there to enjoy a quiet drink by the water or celebrate a special occasion with friends.1936 is more than just a bar; it's a destination that promises an extraordinary experience with its enchanting location, exquisite drinks, delectable food, and unparalleled service. Thanks to Jenna and her team, our visit to 1936 was nothing short of spectacular. Whether you're a local or just passing through Maryland, 1936 is a must-visit spot that guarantees to leave a lasting impression.

The location & restaurant its self is super cute. I went out w friends for drink at lunch time it was great. i came back with my boyfriend at a later date for dinner & was not pleased. we got seated right away as it was not very busy, we ordered our food pretty quickly. We waited prob 45 minutes until our food came out, i was so hungry i dove right in… to some cold limp fries. i was so excited for them too, i got the southern fried chicken sandwich. the chicken itself was tasty and a decent size, the bread was not warm and the green fried tomato was like the end of the tomato, it was super hard, the white bbq sauce it comes w isn’t anything to rave abt either. My boyfriend said his fish tacos tasted a bit off and maybe it’s a personal preference but i like my calamari to be a bit crispy ours was not crispy at all and sort of chewy. after waiting 45 minutes for our food i was hoping our experience would be saved be a good dinner but i was all around very disappointed.
