Late Family Dinner - asked for a circular table & it allowed for great conversation. Food was outstanding. Staffing was short but waitstaff & bussers worked hard and were upbeat.

This was our first time trying out the Hunt valley location. We have eaten at the downtown location a number of times over the years. I'd like to start with the pros because I think that's always important. * The bread was delicious. It had a crispy crust and a soft inside and great flavor. I would buy loaves of that if it were available. * Our waitress was excellent. She was friendly and attentive and service overall was quite good. Now for the cons: * The rest of the food was horrible. At some point over the years Sammy's changed their tomato sauce recipe and the oregano level is way too high. It completely overpowers the sauce. * I usually love the Julia salad at the downtown location. The dressing in Hunt valley had way too much oil and too little vinegar. I felt like I was eating lettuce with oil on it which was really disappointing. * I ordered the eggplant burrata appetizer as well and the arugula was covered in oil, the eggplant was over fried and greasy and there was a big blob of burrata sitting on top of all of it. It was not good. * My mother ordered the spinach and cheese ravioli. As stated before, the sauce had too much oregano but, more importantly, the dough of the ravioli was way too thick and it was undercooked so it was inedible. * My son ordered the Alfredo which tasted like overcooked noodles with milk on it. It was incredibly bland, also, inedible. I don't usually like to write negative reviews, but I do think it's important to make the owners aware that some quality control is needed at that location. It really was a disappointing meal.

Understaffed on a Saturday night, so not the server's fault. Once she took our order she was MIA. I have eaten and Sammy's two times previously and had excellent meals and service. Our entrees arrived barely warm and the food was bland. Guessing it sat for a while before being brought to the table. No one came by with grated cheese or a pepper grinder for the entire meal, which was disappointing. Hopefully just an off night.

The food was very good. Loved the ravioli. Apple greens salad very good but a bit pricey. It was very crowded, no parking available front or back. So loud could not hear eachother. The patio was filled with parents and kids could not walk through area.

Waitress was pleasant. Seated right away. Food was plentiful. Appetizers were very filling. Calamari, mussels, and crab toast all delish! Entrees were so plentiful we could not eat it all. The bread and olive oil dip was tasty. Drinks were amazing.

We had to wait 30 minutes for our table/reservation which wasn't a huge deal. However the restaurant seemed overwhelmed. We had to drink water and wine out of plastic cups! Definitely a different experience than prior visits. The food was still great though.

Consistently high quality food - everything on the menu, which is extensive! Never disappoints. Just wish some sound buffering could be installed - the place is deservedly packed every night of the week but the decibel level really ratchets up so difficult to talk.

I had an extremely disappointing experience for Valentine's Day at this restaurant. Me and my date arrived for our 8:45pm reservation and got seated within a few minutes of arriving. We waited almost 10 minutes before our waiter Renee came over to greet us. I understand it being busy but out the gate it gave a bad impression. Renee had a pleasant personality but I felt like our table was the least of her concerns as she barely checked on us. We opted to place our main courses right away, I ordered the Jimmy's seafood Fra Diavolo with no calamari and my date ordered the mom's cheese and spinach ravioli. It took 42 minutes for our food to arrive, during our wait, we watched several tables around us get their food, drinks and desert, paid their check and left. No manager ever came over to check on us at all and I didn't feel like this place cared about us having a good experience. We felt like strangers that didn't belong instead of patrons who this establishment was pleased to been chosen by for the night. When the food arrived it was flavorless and bland. My date's ravioli was undercooked and was tasteless and the Jimmy's seafood diavolo, stated it was supposed to be spicy and it was not. It was as if they forgot about the food for our table and the kitchen rushed through the cooking of our food just to finish the ticket. We will not be coming back to this place after such an awful experience and anyone I know, I will not be recommending this place.

It's Valentine's Day! So as I'm driving to dinner I get a call from Sammy's, they are in the weeds and curious if I'm still coming. This should have been my clue but we forged ahead with the 60min trek. We arrive at our 6:30 tee time and are seated right away. After that the experience went south with spotty service, that wobbly table that requires 4 bar coasters and realizing our table was a last minute creative squeeze despite my reservation from last month. Food was mediocre in general. Bread and butter were great. We got the Sally Salad and split it...pretty good if you like that goat cheese. Also chose the muscles but they arrived at the same time Sally did so they got warm and were decent despite temp. By this time we're sorta content so split a dinner choice of Chicken Toni Tina that had some great cutlets but we thought the white sauce was bland and floury. Note: Side order of pasta rigatoni was nice and tasty. Skipped desert and then waited and waited for the check. It was a rough night for service and the place was stacked. Once we did check out the older gentleman serving as Host hinted that it was a bad night. He apologized and don't really need to but he knew the restaurant had shortcomings this Valentine's Day.

The service is horrible. We showed up at 7:25 for a 7:30 reservation and were told that we needed to wait 45 minutes to an hour to be seated. The hostess desk was a mess. There were people with 6:30 reservations that were still waiting to be seated. I guess it's good that they were thar busy, because will not be going back. Next time, we'll go to Vito's instead.

Food was delicious and in no way did we feel rushed. Appreciated the ability to make a reservation for 12 people online, rather than calling. Atmosphere and food were great. Didn't feel like we needed to yell when we were talking. Only cons- service was slow. We were limited in drinks due to lack of server attention both at the bar and table. Sat at table at least 15 min before anyone came over and our server looked very tired.

A neighborhood gem with a wonderful vibe & tremendous customer service The food has big portions The salad is fresh & the dressing is homemade. All pasta is cooked to perfection & the tiramisu is worth the calories

The food & drinks were all really good. I loved that they had blue cheese stuffed olives for the dirty martinis. The Julia salad and calamari was a wonderful start to our meal. We had the penne vodka and chicken parmesan. Both were great, but the chicken parmesan was exceptional. We will definitely be back soon!

It was our first time going to Sammy's! What a great place! The food was amazing! Our server, Taylor, was excellent! She was very sweet and attentive and made us feel like VIP! We're definitely going back! I've told several of our friends about this gem and they've made their reservations!

Good Italian food. Love the scallop renee risotto and eggplant parmigiana. The meatball appetizers are delicious as well as the mussels. Love the hot Italian bread and the garlic/basil/cheese olive oil dip!
