Just to clarify for everyone they used to have a restaurant until university of MD bought the complex back in Oct and evicted everyone so they can knock it down and build dorms. They have food trucks currently and hopefully will have a restaurant again. By far the best tacos I've had in MD in the last 20 years.

Don't want to ruin their score so I just put a 4, but I stopped by the restaurant location and it was closed with majority of furniture/appliances ripped out. No idea how people are still rating this place with recent visits.

I don't know why there are photos of a large restaurant and with Bar I'm not upset because it's a food truck

My experience at Taqueria Habanero Food Truck was a very pleasant surprise. I was invited by a friend who knew the College Park area well, where the restaurant is located. He was participating in an entrepreneurship program at the University of Maryland in the same place where I was carrying out similar activities and took me to try the authentic Mexican food there.Upon arrival, we were greeted with delicious and flavorful tacos that truly captured the essence of Mexican cuisine. As a Brazilian, it was interesting to observe the differences in the way of serving and flavors, and I particularly appreciated the traditional spicy touch of Mexican food. The experience was so good that I would certainly have come back more often if I hadn't been so busy with other activities during my stay in the region.

Sadly not as good as it used to be and becoming overpriced.

The tinga tacos and tacos al Yucatan are phenomenal. Hard to find the Yucatan tacos anywhere else as delicious--shrimp, cactus, and cheese in equal proportion. The al Pastor tacos are also wonderful. The best customer service as well.

Ordered via Grub Hub. Omg. Literally the best Mexican food I've ever had. And delivery. Cannot wait to try them in person. Unbelievable.Their habenero special sauce is no joke. I can hang with the spiciest of spice, but damn, had to drink some milk after that.Cannot wait til they get a brick and mortar back, will be there every week. Must try.

Went here for the first time on a Monday evening. The restaurant wasnt packed which I liked and service was okay. Side of guac was great and the two salsas that came w the chips were tasty. Sadly I didnt enjoy my birria and have had better. It really lacked flavor, the consume was literally oil rather than that gravy like texture I'm used to, and the meat couldve been more tender. I would go back to try something else but dont suggest the birria.

I love Mexican food. It's my top 5 favorite type of cuisines to eat. This place was actually good overall. It had a light crowd as well, with many customers of different ages and ethnicites too. If it wasn't relocating I'd visit again. So, after about a hour driving in the rain and switching plans to go to different restaurants (Shagga was having problems, so they were closed for the day and the Black-owned vegan place across the street had NO parking) my friend, Ms. Lily, suggested this place. The food was my treat (except she wanted to pay for the little food she ate before I arrived.) I think she bought an order of sopes, chips and salsa, and a coffee ☕ (Cafe de Olla.) I was cool with coming here.My friend ate some chips and had a little of the salsa verde and spicy sauce but her stomach can't really take that ??. She ended up giving me her chips later to take home. She ordered the burrito ? and mango drink and I ordered Horchata (under agua frescas), camarones enchipotlados (a spiced shrimp dish), and the trio of tacos: ?: yucatecos (to-go.)The food was spot on! I really loved all the flavors even the spice. I ate my plate - no leftovers (except my to-go tacos ? ?.) I ate several chipotle peppers too. My friend NEVER had horchata before so I suggested she get a sample cup, so I asked the waitress (glasses and hair cut on sides) for one. It took her a while to bring it to the table and she didn't bring the entrees all at one. It was probably about 3 minutes in difference. So that was annoying.I wish the menu listed all the house drinks they made, because no one would know unless they either asked or looked at the machine pitchers of drinks in the kitchen area. Advertise that stuff! The horchata was great ?. My friend liked the horchata and it was cooling for some of the spice in her ? burrito, which she had leftovers of and decided to take home. I treated and the total was 60.95 and I tipped so the grand total was almost $71 dollars ?.By October 30, 2023, this location is relocating to Route 1 off of Rhode Island Avenue. There is demolition and construction to build UNaffordable housing near University of Maryland - College Park, so all off the businesses in that campus mall are either going to have to relocate or close shop. This is pretty unfortunate because I really want to head to that African restaurant and the Mr. Fries man location (again). Hopefully the Mr. Fries restaurant doesn't move too far because the next location is in Towson. I'm sorry, but I'm not going super close to Baltimore just for decorated loaded fries... ?.Anyhow, I'd like to visit the restaurant again but with Taqueria Habanero ?️ basically moving to/near DC I doubt they'll have parking ?️. I absolutely hate heading to restaurants that don't have bomb ? parking, at least, so this will be the first and last time I would be willing to go there.Vegetarian options: Most of the dishes feature some kind of meat/protein or there is an upcharge if you want it. For vegetarians, there are limited dishes featuring veggies and no meat. For vegans, the pickings are slim. If you want to take your chances you can always request as many sides as you'd like or a dish without meat or cheese.Parking: Parking is a tight squeeze. Hopefully it's something they consider during their next move to a newer location.Kid-friendliness: There are foods kids can eat. There isn't an exclusive 'Kid's Menu' however.Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is also some spots for available parking.

Took a chance and came here because a family member recommended it. I ordered chicken tacos, birria tacos, 1 carnitas taco & churros. First they bring the food without sauces, I had to wait around so long my food got cold. There was a lump of fat in my birra tacos. Churros tasted like the frying oil. Over all food was as displeasing as the service. Not worth the price. The only Good thing was the decoration of the place. Next time I'll stick to riverdale to get good tacos. Wouldn't recommend to a friend .

Came here a few times years ago and don’t remember it being such small portions and for $4/5 per mini taco. It’s crazy. I ordered rice and beans and sent it back. $8 for literally 4 spoon full of rice that’s crazy. I understand the economy is bad but so are my pockets. I will just eat at chipotle. A huge bowl of food for $15. 4 little tacos rice beans gonna cost me $40 and I’ll be hungry soon as I leave. :-( we can’t keep doing this guys. Y’all gonna have to bring them prices downHe didn’t remove the rice and beans and so I didn’t leave a tip! $47 for this and I’m still hungry. Smh I should have gone to McDonald’s
