I got a little confused at the front door. They had a machine that takes orders but only take out orders. Don't do what I did and order from it if you wanted to sit down and eat.Other than that, the food was great. I had a tonkotsu miso ramen and gyoza. FINALLY a Japanese place that does gyoza right!!They wear both filling and delicious. I'll definitely be coming back and order correctly next time!!

I love this place. Everything about it is outstanding. A bowl of Tantanmen Ramen is my favorite and the huge bowl is 4 meals for me. I got a wonderful appetizer whose name I forget & it isn't on the website! A quick stop for ramen around $14-16. Their restaurant seated us with no wait on Sunday around noon, and the staff was so nice and answered questions clearly for us.The Akira ramen, their namesake, is my favorite ramen there, though the broths for the other ramens are rich as well.I really enjoyed the croquette with cheese corn and hamachi kamayaki (fried fish)I would recommend sticking to ramen as the main dish, as their soba set was delicious, but also quite single note that was greater the first three bites than the fourth.
I ordered the Twin Rivers sushi roll at Akira, and it was a huge mistake. The roll was soggy, falling apart, and the fish was strange looking. Sushi tasted terrible and left a disgusting unpleasant aftertaste.

The location is right in front of Columbia mall so super convenient. If you're lucky you'll find street parking, if not you'll have to park at the parking lot across the street. We were about to be sat right away, but it took some time for someone to actually approach our table. We ordered and everything came out in 15 minutes top. Appetizers + entrees. The food was really good. Don't skip on the gyozas. I get the volcano ramen. Our busboy was surprisingly more attentive than our waiter. He asked if we needed to go boxes or dessert. I would definitely come here again.
