I want to like this place- I go weekly to trivia next door. When Bullhead first appeared in 2020, the Big Pit Beef sandwich was tender, slightly pink, and very juicy. I had this awesome version about five times before things went steeply downhill. At some point in late 2021, I received a Big (dry, balled-up, overcooked) Pit Beef sandwich. I remember thinking that everyone has an off-day. Since then, I've ordered the Big Beef five more times, and it never changed again.A couple years later, I've given almost everything else a try including the pit turkey, brisket, mac & cheese, burnt ends, Bullrito, tacos, and cheese steak. I've found nothing to enjoy.I've given up at this point as there isn't a whole lot more to the menu. Stop by next door for some delicious beer, but bring your own food!

Pulled pork was great. Mac and cheese was not. Walked in for my take out order and was never acknowledged by staff. Looked around and found my order on the counter and left.

The turkey meat salad. It was sliced thin like sandwich meat. Not the chunk of meat I was expecting. The bbq sauce was peppery and smokey. Food was packaged well.

I haven't been to the restaurant, but I ate from the food truck at the Main Street Music Fest in Ellicott City. The food was tasty (I had the pit beef with KC sauce and my wife had the Lil pit beef with tiger sauce). But the service was extremely slow. I waited in line for an hour (it wasn't that long of a line) and then it took another 30 min to get my order. Like I said, the food was good - just not sure it's "wait 1.5 hours to get your food" good.

Of all the smokehouse places that I've been to, Bullhead Smokehouse is the best of all time. The Stacked Mac n cheese is delicious, the PitBeef sandwiches with all the trimming is great and don't forget about the cheese steak is very delicious. Not to mention, the fries is to die for, LOL! Anyway, me and my family enjoy the great service from the staff, and we will return with my friends and their family back to this delicious place! I just had the pulled pork from the food truck. It was oven baked, not smoked, with absolutely no seasoning - so bland/flavorless. Really skimpy on the sauce - barely there. Mac & cheese was horrible - over cooked pasta with gloppy cheese sauce, which was tossed in the garbage.

I've been at a lot of smokehouse places, but Bulkhead Smokehouse is the best place to enjoy great food! The staff are very friendly and helpful with great customer service and the food is very delicious! You have to try the Stacked Mac and the delicious SMASH Burger, not to mention the delicious Pit Beef sandwich and Cheese Steak, and the delicious fries. You gotta try the fries !! As always, I will return with my family and my friends with their family to enjoy ourselves with the food and everything else!
The bbq here is decent. There are many sauces to choose from. I ordered burnt ends and some Mac and cheese. I would recommend the meats but not the Mac and cheese.

Outside seating area was nice, good shade when we got there around 530. Counter staff was not great at taking my order, at one point they walked away mid sentence and did not know their own menu when I asked a question. Pit beef and pulled pork sandwiches were served on small soggy potato rolls, it was not a lot of food for a $15 sandwich. Mac and cheese is penne pasta? Fries were good.

The food was nothing short of awful. The presentation was even worse. I've had BBQ before, but this is some amateur kindergarten nonsense. The food was BAD in a word. Bring your own, visit the gas station, Jimmy John's. NO BUENO.

Update: Hotdogs are delicious.Absolutely love the food and staff here. The tacos are amazing, you can't find anything else like them. They're also amazing the next day (if you have leftovers). The mac and cheese hits the spot every time, sometimes I like to throw one of their many hot sauces on it to spice things up. Also love when I'm attempting to watch my diet I can just get a "pile of meat" and it's always delicious.
