Tucked away in Owen Brown shopping center, directly across from the entrance of Lake Elkhorn Park, is a soul food paradise. I have to commend Big Schlim, for sharing about the National Cannibas Festival special at this restaurant. I was greeted with love by the cashier and a smile. I saw how dark the sweet tea was in the beverage dispenser and let me tell you I know the tea has to be good! I ordered the 420 Sweet Chili Party Wing Special (w/fries) and the 4 Piece Chicken lunch special. You can get a 2 piece or 4 piece lunch. Both come with a side and biscuit. The wing special with the fries and the 4 piece were delicious. The Collard greens though full of flavor were too sweet for me. Customer service and the parking was amazing. Between the made to order quality food and the 2019 food prices this place is a winner. Treat yourself!

Dc boy loved this Columbia chicken! I wanted to give them 5 stars so bad, but I couldn't and I'll tell you why. So, when you walk in, it looks like it's a an old carry out & smells a little weird. It comes off a little as a hole in the wall spot, but as I've learned they are gems! They have a kiosk you can order from or with cashier. Everybody was welcoming and one person help me place my order. It took about 20/25 min. The chicken was warm but didn't seem hot like it was just coming out of the dryer, but the fries were. Fries are homemade- style, so good and good size and they were hot out of the oil! Chicken is so flavorful and crispy. But wasn't hot as the fries were. For this price it's no way this places isn't packed out. I got a 4 piece special which comes with one side and biscuit. Biscuit was decent, but I don't eat it. With a little TLC (handing that smell, better lighting, and better menu placement), this place is easily a 5. Also, making sure chicken is piping hot. All men working and they were good with the service which I didn't expect initially. I wish this spot was closer, will be back next time if I'm in the area, or anytime I feel like making the drive from DC.

I visited this place at the request of a friend. Would I go back if I was in the area? Yes. Would I get the same items? NoHere’s what my experience was…Let me say, first and foremost, the customer service was immaculate!!! Very polite and professional people! That alone would make me continue supporting them. The food was good. The chicken was fried to perfection!!! I do think the sides need a little help. My mac and cheese was cold and not very flavorful. On the other hand, my fries were seasoned very well but a tad bit dry. I would love to try some other items. It’s in a nice location but there are “stragglers” that seem to hang out right by the front door, which could easily turn customers away.I think this place is a good spot for take-out. A few touch ups on the side dishes and it would be AMAZING!

I have patronized this carry out since its inception. The initial owner and his wife had a winning combination of great taste, consistency of taste, & service. There was always a news article or public recognition about the business. I don’t go as frequently after the move to Owen Brown. I did recently and last month. The first two experiences resulted in a long wait but the food tasted good as expected. Last week’s order was via Door Dash. I ordered for friends and I. I was missing corn muffins and non of the food tasted like the original recipes. The fish was salty & lumpy, the greens watery, and one corn muffin overcooked and grainy. I could not eat it. I do hope this was just a case of the normal cooks had an emergency and they were away. Go back to what Mr. Rodney created…please.

ordered the chicken dinner 3 piece with mac nd cheese, collard greens and yams , the chicken was okay, the macaroni is probably the best side they have, the greens are sweet for some reason not a fan at all, the yams were a disgrace I LOVE yams and these were a joke honestly lol. threw most of it away waste of money.

This is not a place you go to for atmosphere. You go here for the best damn chicken you have ever had. This little hidden gem is in the top 5 of my family's favorite places to order dinner from.

The food was good. The service was great. These brothas were working short-staffed and in a DARK kitchen and still hustling to get the food out as quickly and efficiently as possible. Despite the extended wait, I still tipped them. I wish I could have given more just to acknowledge their work ethic. I pray the owner(s) will improve their work conditions IMMEDIATELY. They deserve to work in a fully functional kitchen!!

The wait time was approximately 1 hour , the food was tasty. The wait time needs to decrease. It alone made our 30 min trip here feel even longer and affected our experience.

This is my first time here this place was very interesting. I was greeted by a cool brother behind the counter that loved where he worked and he would tell you all the good foods which was everything which I really liked about that. So I got the lake trout and the fried chicken. The lake trout was really good, the Fried Chicken was okay I was a little disappointed because my thigh was soggy on the bottom not sure why because I ate there so it wasn't too much sweating but that was a little disappointment but the leg and the breasts was pretty good. It has seasoning on the chicken and fish so that was a plus. The biscuit that I received was definitely on the burnt hard side so I really didn't get a chance to taste one of their good biscuits. They were out of greens at the time they were cooking. But apparently this place is jumping during lunch because they surely run out of things by dinner. So definitely come check this place out and let me know what you think.Parking: This restaurant is in a shopping center with plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: You can take your kids here they are not any kid activities in this restaurant but your kids will be safe to eat there and go pick up food if necessaryWheelchair accessibility: This place is also wheelchair accessible it has no steps to get into the restaurant just a small sidewalk
