I don't like to leave reviews, but my family had a rather unpleasant experience at HunanManor this past Easter Sunday. The reservation I made was lost, they were not busy, so no worries there. The waiter seemed really disappointed that there were only eight instead of the original ten I reserved for. The service was just not up to the restaurant's usual standard. The waiter would take a couple of orders and rush away, some people that wanted drinks just gave up. My husband has an allergy, waiter seemed that there was only one thing on the entire menu that he could order and brought the entree steamed, no seasoning at all, not even salt and pepper. It would have been nice to get more rice when we asked for it, but unfortunately not to be. Entrees came at different times, as did the three cocktails that were ordered. I've never felt so rushed at a restaurant, the place was pretty slow, but plates were taken away before you barely took the last bite, boxes and fortune cookies brought while we still eating, waiter seemed rushed off his feet although from what I could see he didn't have many tables. Very discouraging for us all, as we were really looking forward to our first "restaurant" Easter after many years of cooking at home. We may still go out next year, but it certainly won't be here.

The food was okay, the server Jane was terrible. She brought a pot of tea with nothing to stir it with I guess she assumed that I wasn't going to add sugar so I had to find her and ask or a spoon and knife for my lunch, later we had to ask her for some napkins. I ordered Shrimp In Lobster Sauce, the shrimp was slightly overcooked, the sauce could have been a littler thicker. The egg roll filling was mushy. Would I go back or recommend this place to my friends, one word NO.

The chicken and cashews dish portion was small to be considered a dinner price at $16 and was barely warm when it arrived at our table. I was reluctant to mention it to our waitress as she appeared to be having a bad day based on her attitude towards us when we asked simple questions.

our normal go-to Chinese food spot; I ahve my favorite dishes-love the high quality ingredients, more than just breading or side ingredients, but always packed with fresh hearty portions of protein, well balanced sauces & toppings- large- usually multiple meals for me! we are slowly trying to run through menu variety- this visit we ordered our favorite crispy spicy eggplant & tried the sausage, shrimp, pickled fried rice- again hearty delicious fresh portions the sausage shrimp pickled rice was delectable seasoned with well balanced ingredients- packed with chunks of sausage & shrimp among the fluffy rice with large chunks of fried egg- would order again fluffy rice, big chunks of protein, well cooked, well sauced friendly to-go quick service

My Husband and I have been going to Hunan Manor in Columbia for almost 30 years now. We've noticed how this place has gone down with their quality of food and Customer Service. The last time we ordered from here...we ordered the curry shrimp...got it home and it was just horribly nasty. There was no curry added...just a watery green looking sloppy mess almost like soup. We also ordered the orange chicken....it was all dark meat rubbery and just horrible! Don't bother complaining to this place if your food isn't good because they'll ask you to just bring it back instead of offering to replace the item next visit. Very poor customer service in my opinion and just awful. We will be looking for a better place to get our Chinese food from now on.

Great place for yummy chinese food. The servers are fast and knowledgeable. The food was very good and the sauces were amazing. The soups were fine but not as flavorful as some I've had. The food came out quickly and we had a lovely dinner.

As usual, food was hot and great. Service was awesome. The only complaint is that it was a little chilly inside.

Celebrated my grandma’s birthday here with a party of over 20 people. We were asked to place a $100 deposit that would be subtracted from our final bill….when the time came to pay, nothing was subtracted. Our waiter wasn’t very friendly either. I politely asked if they had chrysanthemum tea, and he replied “that tea is only for dim sum and we’re not a dim sum restaurant. We gave you this tea for free and it’s oolong, where dim sum would charge you”. Very off-the-wall replies. I accidentally bumped into him as he was taking away a stack of dishes and I immediately apologized. He returned it with a death stare and wouldn’t look away even after I apologized again.I wouldn’t come back here and the food was nothing special.

The best chinese restaurant in the Metro/DMV area. Their chow mein is the best that I've tried on the east coast (coming from the 626 area in California, there are many good restaurants to pick from there). The peking duck was one of the best restaurant ducks I've had and ranks among the best I've had from Chinese butchers/barbeques. I don't remember the names, but they had a beef and spicy shrimp dish that were also good. There was nothing to complain about when it comes to service. When we tried to get a table during packed hours they gave us a reasonable estimate and even squeezed us in beforehand. Waiters provided everything that we needed and were quick to help. Everything is clean and well-managed about the location, with a nice waterfall when you enter in the waiting room and a nice wooden theme going through the entire store.
