We are determined to try every easton restaurant (doing pretty well!) and our opportunity for Bannings came when we had Avalon tix for a show next door. Food was good, service was timely and there seemed to be enough servers and bartenders (hard to find that lately) to keep everyone happy. Loved my chicken pie even tho the puff top came out a few minutes after the filling but I'm not annoyed by things like that. Especially when the server recognized how funnily awkward it was along with apologizing and explaining it was an oven issue. Good all around and will return! I want to try the sandwiches and wished I could've ordered from the lunch menu. I didn't ask so that's on me.

We were so excited to try this restaurant due to positive reviews I read. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. My prime rib was ordered medium rare and it was served medium well, the mash potatoes tasted like they were from boxed mashed potatoes and the Brussels sprouts were not cooked and had no seasoning whatsoever. The Guinness Stew was terrible too. Also, we had the shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were warm...really? Don't waste your time and money.

Always excellent food. Even though the Tavern was shortstaffed on a Busy Saturday night with only one server, the bartender and hostess helped out and collectively they did very well. We've eaten here many times and the food is consistently excellent. We'll be back!

Good food, good service. We love Bannings. Steve (the owner), as well as the servers & bartender always make us feel welcome. Everything on the menu is really good--we've yet to have a bad appetizer, dinner, or dessert.

The whole place just feels dirty. I felt like I was on an episode of kitchen nightmares. At the end of our meal I overhead the bartender say “We have all of this food rotting in the fridge” to the waitress.

The owner welcomed us when we arrived. Menu is not overwhelming but diverse. Food was very good, drinks were good, atmosphere was great. Food is reasonably priced.

Rated only 4 stars because of high noise level. It's a neighborhood pub essentially. The prime rib was reasonable and done just right.

Our meals were completely tasteless. The only positive was a very pleasant, attentive server.

What happened???? The 2 servers had no clue. I got a bowl of clam chowder, which I always get. There were 2 of us. I got 1 spoon and no oyster crackers- which always come with the soup. Took asking both waitresses to get some stale crackers. Got a burger, very good, which comes with fries - no ketchup brought, and a pickle....no pickle. Other diner got a turkey club....no mayo on it or on side. Had to ask 2 times for ketchup, mayo and pickle. By then almost done lunch. Waitress kept saying I gotcha- but she didn't. Heard a lot of harrumphing - diners shouldn't hear it

Everything was good but worth the money ??? Nah probably not. Bangers and mash with no gravy?? What In the world?? And what's up with the secretive feel and very odd hours ?? Odd

Banning's, set in the heart of Historic Easton, is both a restaurant and a pub. The menu and service are both good, but I have to say Banning's would not be Banning's if it weren't for their bartendress, Christen Wickham (Skittles). Christen is the reason many patronize the pub. She is an entertainer, who is always up, a stays ahead of everyone's needs. "Banning's would not be Banning's if it weren't for Christen." I whole heartedly agree. I give Banning's 3.5 stars. I give Christen 5 PLUS stars.

The food, the drinks, the helpful employees, the understated elegance of the restaurant all contribute to a great dining experience in Easton, MD. The sea food was fresh and wonderfully prepared, the steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly (we had a large crowd). If you're on the eastern shore, or visiting as we were, take an evening and go enjoy a great time at Banning's Tavern in Easton, MD.

Really great food and service. I've heard they have the best burger in town but we haven't tried one yet. The short ribs and rockfish were amazing.
