This is specifically about the Honey Pig in Rockville and is the same review I’ve posted on Google:
My fiancé and I have been regulars here for 4 years and have absolutely LOVED it. Until recently. Over the last couple months things have changed drastically. Completely new waitstaff, there’s a buffet with AYCE, and the owner’s around A LOT. One of their new waitstaff is incredibly rude and problematic. No idea of her name but she has short curly hair and glasses. First this same server has tried to push us to get up and eat at the buffet both times we’ve been in the last month, and each time we said no thank you, she’d wait and come back to try and push us to go up and get food from it again! We’re talking 3-5 times in 45 minutes. Neither of us like buffets and this one especially has food just out in the open, no one closes the lids, which is ripe for dirt, debris, and germs. Gross. She went so far as to bring us soup from the buffet that neither of us asked for, open my fiancés silverware, and put his spoon in the soup ?? That’s not only incredibly presumptuous and rude but also disgusting! She then coughed over our grill and didn’t try to cover her mouth or turn her head. At one point we ordered another meat and the secondary server (younger woman with black hair up in a bun and wearing a red Honey Pig shirt while working this evening - shoutout to her - she was amazing!) asked if we’d like for the grill to be changed. We said no it’s fine, so she brought the spicy pork belly and started cooking it. The rude server came back, shouted across the restaurant for someone to come change the grill, proceeded to take the raw pork off the grill, grab my fiancés plate and put the pork on it until a new grill was ready instead of going to get another plate. After we had finished that meat, she didn’t even ask if we wanted anything else, she just brought us our check and then yelled across the restaurant for someone to bring water when my fiancé asked for some. Maybe don’t just assume people are done eating AYCE ?? Horribly rude and disrespectful. We miss the way this Honey Pig used to be. We miss the old waitstaff and whatever change the owner decided to make to this one is such a huge mistake. We’ve heard Iron Age is good, so we’ll be going there from now on.

This was our first time visiting here. We had a large group, and the waitstaff was very accommodating. So was the cashier. The food was really good. The food bars were very clean and well organized. Wonderful experience

Everything was super clean. They had a really large selection of items which where served buffet style with tons of side dishes all where great. Meats were brought out by the waiter.Service was fantastic and everything was great. Cant complain much about eating here definetly better than the rest in the area. I will be going back. The snow crab legs were really good and worth getting at no additional cost.Pricing $35 dollars for either hotpot or kbbq. $40 for both kbbq and hotpot but the entire table must get both if you choose both. $16.99 for lunch.

Hostess was rude and hung up on us before we could finish asking about wait times, told us 5-10 minutes wait which turned into over half an hour. Bartender was absent for 10 minutes while we waited at bar to be served. The food and drinks are great but don’t expect to be treated very well if you’re not their “ideal” customer. However, the woman attending to our table was very sweet and helpful and helped turn the night around. But for a first timer, I would drop expectations for friendly service.

We had hotpot here. It is buffet. And the hotpot is very bad, from soup base, to sauce, not the same level as hotpot hero and other hotpot place. The soup has no flavor at all, the sauce is very sweet, it is soy sauce plus sugar. The tofu is sour and bad. There is no ice cream dessert, only three kinds of cake and two fruits. It is called honeypig hotpot, but it is neither honeypig, or hotpot.

My local hot pot & bbq. Can't go wrong. It's always clean, including bathroom. Waiters are always nice & friendly. I haven't seen a fly, which is a major plus. Decent selection of food for hot pot. I just hate a communal rice warmer. I think it's disgusting IMO so I don't eat the rice there.

All Things Considered myself not being very familiar with the system and the type of food available. Still had a wonderful time and a great meal. The hot pot system with the spicy broth which starts off kind of a floral suite and ends with a spicy kick to the back of your throat was absolutely delicious with just about anything I put in it..

Usually go to Iron Age for Korean bbq but wanted to try a new place nearby and this place surpassed my expectations! We got bulgogi and fried dumplings, we thought price and quality of everything was excellent!
