Quaint atmosphere and a very nicely decorated, well kept place. Excellent food, excellent service. I was thoroughly impressed and amazed at how two young people were able to flawlessly handle a near full capacity restaurant on no less than 4 levels, with a refreshingly fantastic attitude to boot. Bravo.

During my most recent visit to my home state of Maryland, I visited Old Town Ellicot City with a friend. We happened upon Syriana Cafe almost by chance. And where quite glad we did. Syriana takes up a multi-floor building, giving you a wide variety of seating options...whether amidst the crowd, or in a small corner. You can get a great view of the main street from one of the window seats. The food options included what you would reasonably assume to be offered at a Mediterranean restaurant. Tabouleh and tahini. Falafael. Baga ganoush. All the classics. And each of them were very good. I actually don't think there was a single dish that I didn't like. I did particularly like their hummus. Service, while friendly, can be slow. The wait staff are constantly climbing up and down stairs to get to all the diners, however, so this is understandable.

I'll be honest, I've only gotten Turkish coffee and some of their displayed snacks/desserts... but they're so good that my friends and I always come get Turkish coffee if we're in Ellicott City.

Worst falafel ever. Very dry and NO flavor AT ALL! but the worst part was I saw a DEAD MOUSE under our table and one RUN ACROSS THE FLOOR. Unfortunately I saw this AFTER we ate ? won’t be returning

Fantastic food and cozy ambience. Usually mediterranean food is a bit dry for my tastebud, but Syrian food surprised me! It was juicy and flavourful. Service was a bit slow since the seating area is at the second floor and the staff were at the first floor.

My visit to Syriana Cafe & Restaurant was delightful experience. Exceptional food and a captivating atmosphere. The ambiance of the restaurant is something to be truly appreciated, offering a warm and inviting setting that complements the dining experience perfectly. The service was good. The wait staff was attentive and efficient even though the restaurant was busy they managed to maintain a high level of service, which was impressive. The highlight of our visit was the food. The menu offers were greatHowever, our experience was slightly marred by an issue with the seating. The chair I sat in was broken which resulted in a painful pinch to my fingers. The wait time for our food was longer than expected. However, the quality and taste of the food more than made up for the wait

I recently held an event at Syriana, and it went more smoothly than I could have even imagined. The food was amazing and affordable, the event space was beautiful and private, and the entire Syriana team was super responsive, and had someone assigned to us throughout the event, which made everything a breeze. I highly recommend Syriana not just for their food, but for their professional service, and amazing atmosphere.

Cozy, rustic, intimate experience from my visit to Syriana's at Old Town Ellicott City. Perfect venue for a date night. First floor hosts a couple seats and the bakery; the other two floors are for seating. Not familiar with the desserts and much of the cuisine other than the wraps but everything was tasty. Plenty of spice and texture. Portion sizes were adequate as well. Two ladies running around serving the floors were quick and accommodating. No complaints about service. The draw here, personally, is the vibe. Perfect setting for a Valentines Day dinner if you want to avoid the crowd. Wooden furniture and warm tones accented by interesting fixtures. Road noise is minimal and not a worry. Maybe more of a worry in the summer when the doors are open. Recommended!

The food was good, the space is intimate. The service, however, was all over the place. Unclear if understaffed or if that is just how it goes.It is a cafe on the first floor and then a restaurant on the upper floors. The restaurant has a cafe vibe to it. Very little fanfare or interaction when ordering, just a what do you want.So from that perspective it was a little jarring. Food came out quickly though, which was great so we could get out and do other things with our evening. There is only beer, wine, and sangria on the menu - no liquor / cocktails.Parking: Downtown Ellicott City is always a disaster for parking. Use one of the lots as you come in and just walk down to main street.

It's very nice to have a Syrian restaurant in Ellicott City! I stopped by on a rainy night for a quick meal. The restaurant is huge and very warm, with a register and some treats on the first floor- be careful or you'll buy them all! I sat upstairs and had a falafel sandwich with fries. The sandwich was a little small but very tasty, and the fries came with a delicious sauce. I had to get kunafa for dessert! It wasn't like other kunafa I've had but it was warm and sweet. This is a great place to stop by and try some Syrian food!

If you're looking for a cozy rustic place for Syrian food, this place is it. We went here on Valentine's Day so it was busy but we got our food in about 20 minutes & everything was great! We enjoyed our drinks & appetizers. Grape leaves had a nice tart taste. As for the falafel platter, it was filling. A little different from falafel I've had before, not as crispy & on the blander side. I liked the desserts though! I couldn't remember what they were called but all & all not too sweet but good!

Honestly I was feeling pretty sketch about this place. But everything changed when my fries came out. They gave me some of the best darn fries of my life, at a reasonable price and gave me a whole box. Weird compliment, but I hate ketchup, and it was some of the freshest ketchup I've ever had. Will be returning for more fries at my next outing in historic Ellicott city.
