We had a great time and enjoyed our experience throughout. Some dishes, like the Lomo Saltado were exquisite. The ceviche and the mussels were also excellent dishes. The guacamole was well seasoned and refreshing. Unfortunately, the paellas were just about average. The rice was overcooked, borderline mushy. The flavor could have been a little bit more pronounced as well. Drink wise, we really enjoyed the selection the restaurant had to offer. I found the margaritas to be one of the better ones served out there.

So this place is downtown Frederick. Parking can be annoying, but there's a garage not very far from the restaurant. They start you off with chips and salsa, which was about your normal. I wish places had chunkier salsa that wasn't like a soup, but the flavor was good. I ordered the chicken Chile rellenos and a sangria. The sangria was pretty good, but the Chile rellenos were even better. Service was good. Honestly I'd say it compares to guapos or uncle Julio's except they have both Mexican and Spanish (Spain) food.

This is the first time we have been back to dine since the renovation and we were very disappointed. The server was bringing our appetizer to our table, dropped the ramekin of sour cream, it hit the bowl of salsa on the table and I was splattered from my head to my waist with salsa. At no time did she inform management and was not as appologetic as she should have been. I had salsa in my eyes, hair and on my clothing. All she did was bring me another napkin. Mangement never came over to our table to apologize. The food was mediocre at best. Will stick to there other restarutants, Mariachi in Frederick and El Mariachi in Rockville. Will not be returning to Cacique.Parking: Closest garage is Church Street

We had a late lunch here before a play at MET. We each had a Mexican dish that was perfectly prepared and presented. For a white table cloth restaurant with a cozy atmosphere the offerings were generous and very reasonably priced. The dining rooms are broken into smaller sections with gas fireplaces, a welcome addition of a chilly day.I also ordered the red wine sangria. Delicious . Highly recommended.

Three stars because of the paella, which didn’t live up to expectations. We came to this restaurant specifically because it served paellas and the dish came out too runny and the flavors weren’t quite there. Not sure if this was a one time thing or if their paellas usually come runny but that wasn’t what we were looking for not expected. The service and setting was nice though.

I put a review on Google 5 years ago that I love this place, but so many things have changed since the re-opening. The staff is not so friendly, and the drinks used to be BOMB, but now they are high priced and watered down. I'm looking for a new spot when I come to Frederick.

The Owner is always there to make sure you happy. He let us add some Scallops to a dish and the food was great. The service is friendly and efficient. We will keep coming back!

We have visited this restaurant multiple times and have noticed lately that the service has gone downhill. Yesterday was the worst. The server took about 10 minutes to notice us and then it took several more minutes to get our drinks. What got me really upset was that after paying almost 30 dollars for a paella Valenciana, by the way, I can make it home for 1/3 of the price. It tasted like it had been cooked several hours ago and then put in the oven to reheat it. It was dry, at the most warm and crusty. It was a real disappointment. BTW we never got a refill on our soda drinks. It was severely understaffed and the food was mediocre.
