I've worked on base since 2007 and I was in shock to have just heard about this Cafe. It was absolutely amazing. The entire area was very clean. The food was presented perfectly. The food tasted GREAT. And the employees were so nice. I highly recommend the Cafe.Dietary restrictions: They had a beautiful salad bar that had fruits too.Kid-friendliness: Appeared kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Large spacious area.

The serving staff was very kind, and it's in a convenient location on post (which is always welcome). That stated, I went last week and unfortunately--the food just was not good. I had steamed rice, grilled vegetables and tilapia. The grilled vegetables were incredibly oily, and the broccoli was mushy while the rhick-cut carrots were still crunchy. The fish was dry, bland, and had a strange, greasy flavor. I paid nearly $15 for the meal, too.Despite the location, I cannot recommend it. I felt so very cheated after eating here because I paid an exorbitant price for an awful lunch.

I like that breakfast is served all day here. The portions are big, too.

As of recent, the last few years, the Discovery Cafe has had poor quality food. Exceptionally poor quality with the grill area. No matter how you ask for your eggs, scrambled, hard, over easy, or an omelet, you will get them cooked the same way and most times with an eggshell in them. You pretty much should just tell people you are only serving up "eggs" and take the other offerings or choices in how you want your eggs prepared off the menu. Because basically no matter what you ask for, you will get a mix between scrambled slop and a hard cooked egg. No matter your preference. If you ask for an omelet, you will get whole pieces of bacon in your omelet/scrambled slop. It doesn't matter and no care goes into making things on the grill, I have tried repeatedly to give it a chance over the last few years and the same result. This is disturbing because it costs so much for food here. It is almost always above $15.00 for breakfast at the Discovery Cafe. The quality of food should just be better. At NIH down the road, it is much better-- often excellent.

I try to eat here often. The food is good and the prices are good as well.Nothing is great about it. The salad bar is probably the most stand out part. Its a cafe that is feels like a upscale school lunch. Nothing special. Good food at a good price, I like it.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable seating environment. Good homey food. Every Tuesday around lunch hour there is a farmer's market near the parking lot selling fresh produce and baked goods.

Tiny House

Clean and inviting atmosphere with many food options. The only drawback here are the prices

This place is one of the few options if you are inside fort Detrick. The food is ok, and there is not to many options during the week.

This is what I think when I hear the term "cafeteria food". The Philly streak made me fell sick.
