Hootch and Banter has good food, minus the in house ketchup. It's nasty. Just bring your own Heinz bottle for real.

Extremely tasty food and the service was quick and fun. The staff handled allergies well and made my son an emergency burger when we needed to switch his meal.

Great place for brunch and/or just hanging out and having cocktails. Their menu is creative and clever. That goes for both food and drink. The staff members are very attentive and polite. The upstairs lounge is always a vibe.I would recommend this place for a casual outing or for date night.

This place is one of the finest Frederick has to offer, especially in the downtown area. The menu is fairly simple but everything they do, they do right. From the twice smoked wings to the homemade ketchup and everything in between. They absolutely get busy and usually stay busy, so plan ahead. Their drink menu is extensive and creative. They have a lounge upstairs but we haven't been to it yet. Food comes out insanely quick, never had an issue with accuracy. Price is fair for what you're getting. My only complaint as a non-local is their hours are somewhat limited. They operate primarily as a dinner place with brunch on weekends, which is totally their choice! Whatever works for them, we will continue to support. Check them out!

I had a mediterranean salad and cheeseburger eggrolls. Everything was delicious and the service was really good. Definitely will be back for another Mediterranean salad.

Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant for a while, finally went on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, nice and cozy, with a bit of a fancy pub vibe. We were lucky to get seated right away, but they were very busy. Despite how busy they were, our server was quick to greet us, and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We started out with the Smoked Chicken Empanadas, which ended up being the star of the meal. They had a crispy crust, with a delicious filling and a tangy creamy sauce drizzled on top. My only feedback would be to serve them with the sauce on the side, as the first couple bites are crispy, but after that they get a little soggy. I had the corned beef sandwich, which was tasty, but probably would've preferred a marbled rye instead of the black bread. My date had the burger, which was unfortunately overcooked. The fries were okay, but could've been seasoned and more crunchy, and we both agreed that the house-made ketchup wasn't great. Overall the food let us down a little, but we think a trip back to try the brunch items might be in order. The service was great!

My Partner and I were excited to come in and try the restaurant this afternoon and were seated upstairs at the bar. The bartender Trevor gave us water and drinks, we were ready to order and he just continued to talk to the group of three across from us. My partner is a Chef at Red Horse in Frederick and I am a server there. We continued to be patient for a while longer, we thought we were acknowledged by the other server but ignored again…. My partner got up and left and I asked to just pay for the drinks. Unacceptable customer service.

This place is special. My wife and I went there for Valentines Day and it was one of the better meals we’ve had in Frederick. I got the Shroom and Board and the flavor profile was fantastic. My wife got Where’s the Beef and Truffle Parm fries and it was out of this world. Feels like they have special chefs there.

I ate there for the first time last night, but it most certainly won’t be the last. I could see this becoming my favorite restaurant in Frederick. Both of us are professional women over 60, but there was a widely diverse clientele in the restaurant. We got the burger and split it. 2 glasses of good red wine, and a great salad . We were good to go. Everything was top notch. Loved our server Maive. The vibe is just right. They do not take reservations.. beware. Great bar.Parking: I got there right at 5 and found a choice spot ( free) on the street. Looks like it could be tough on the weekend or at 7 or so.

The food was above average for the Frederick area. Very cool decor and atmosphere. Super lounge area upstairs. Most impressive was the staff. Every member of staff, from being greeted at the door, to the servers and bartenders, everyone had amazing attitudes. It was evident that they enjoy working at H&B, which may prove to be H&B's secret to success in the ever-cycling turnover of restaurants, and may keep its clientele coming back. Note to H&B: Keep your people, and keep them happy...it's working wonders for you! Special thanks to Amanda, a stellar server and lovely person to have met.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian options. Gluten free options.Parking: Free parking on the street after 5pm. TWO parking garages within short walking distance.
