Tasted and smelled VERY FISHY ….I just had general Tao chicken with a hot and sour soup they must cook the fish in the same pot as chicken. Person at front was more invested in her phone than assisting me… very rude Wouldn’t recommend.

Quick and tasty! Just rolled in from Atlanta and had this place suggested to us. Ordered Hunan chicken, Gen Tso chicken, chicken lo mein and chicken noodle soup for pickup.One of the best Gen. Tso chicken our family has had. Hunan was good, we wanted it spicier but the flavors worked. The broccoli in both was perfect! Crunchy, flavorful.Pass on the chicken noodle soup. No flavor. Looked like it was chick lo mein mix thrown into broth instead of fried. But the chicken lo mein was nice.Good price for the portion size.

I have ordered from Hunan Gourmet many times and been very satisfied with the food and service but this time I was a bit disappointed. The wonton soup was no more than water seasoned with a lot of salty soy sauce! The wontons were waaay overcooked and were a soft mushy mess! On a good note, the fried chicken PIECES...no one has whole wings anymore...were very good and so was the Singapore Rice noodles dish. I'm willing to give Hunan a pass this time but do know that there are many good Chinese restaurants in Frederick and I am willing to explore.

Been here 2-3 times now. I don't come looking for a pleasant interaction with the counter staff - currently no dine-in. I come because the Lunch Specials are a good deal for me as I am not a big person. I get the simple Roast Pork Fried Rice and it comes with a spring roll and a cup of wonton soup (2 dumplings) with a bag of crispy fried noodles. I find it a substantial and filling lunch at a reasonable price. I'm picky about spring rolls, and these are good. They are fried well and the filling is not mushy. They don't beat the MyThai spring rolls, but they are decent "egg roll style" filling spring rolls. The crispy noodles are crisp not stale, and they taste fresh. They are great in the broth. The fried rice is the brown soy sauce style, with standard peas, carrots, and onions. The pork is flavorful and there is enough for some in every spoonful. The one thing that wasn't right is the bubble tea. They shouldn't offer bubbles, as what i got in my drink was the wrong texture. I didn't ask for jelly, but the bubbles had a sort of hard jelly like texture - No bounce. The thai tea was good, but they shouldn't offer bubbles. Please give them a try for a good lunch set meal.
