We needed a last minute cake for our granddaughter. They were very accommodating and had it ready in a couple of hours. It was a chocolate cake with white icing and a chocolate filling. I can't say enough about how good the cake was. Everyone in our group loved the flavors.

A forever customer!! We first worked with Megan from Sweet and Savory in 2016 when she created our wedding cake and we've been hooked since :) Since then we've gone back to place orders for my sisters graduation - she made an awesome Towson Grad cake- our daughters birthday cakes for 1 and 2 years, which was adorably themed for her birthday at the barn and Wonderland for her 1st with an amazing Cheshire cat- and most recently gender reveal cupcakes! Her buttercream flavor is delicious and the whole cakes always come out delicious and beautiful! All of our guests always compliment the cakes because of sight and flavor and ask where it's from! We've obviously had other cakes at other events from local vendors and they do not compare in taste and texture to Sweet & Savory :) We hope she always keeps her doors open because we will continue to seek her for our events that require cake/pastries :)

I was so excited to find a new bakery that sold cupcakes in Frederick after my favorite cupcake place shut down. Unfortunately, this place is NOT good for cupcakes. First. The Buckeye Bark is excellent. I would go there to buy again. Second. The cupcakes were disgusting. They taste like an old lady's coffee shop. You know, as if the cupcakes had sat in the shop for several days and had absorbed all the aromas of the place. Utterly disgusting. It could be that they were baking with flour that has absorbed all the odors too. I cannot stress this enough. I had a nightmare about the cupcakes they were so bad and I was so disappointed. And on top of the off flavor, they were dry and crumbly. The frosting was lacking too. Deflated and sad.

I left a message during the time goggle and FB indicated they were open. I received an answering machine. I also emailed. I did post a review on Meghans FB page which She did not like. After exchanging several emails. I told her conversation over meaning move on. She has since emailed me 3x times. I then said no further contact and asked if I have made myself clear and concise. She sent 2 emails after that calling me unhinged telling me to stop harassing her and telling me I am banned and blocked Really like I care. Imagine a business owner calling a customer names. I would run as fast as I could from this business.

I was in desperate need of a banana cream pie yesterday after our homemade one didn't set properly. I called the bakery and they told me they didn't have one on hand but would make me one. It was ready at the designated time and was so delicious! The staff was so friendly when I came to pick it up. I can't thank you guys enough for helping me in a pinch!

First and foremost, I must say, "thank you so much!" To Meghan and her team. If you're looking for a fabulous bakery look no further! This one is the "bees knees and the cats meow!" I was looking for a bakery to purchase a red velvet cake for my best friend's birthday, and I only had about 6 days before I'd need it. I'd called another place but earliest that I would be able to pick up on the day that I needed it was 2 PM. That was entirely too late. However when I called Sweet & Savory, Meghan told me she could do it and asked me when I wanted to pick up. She said that they opened as early as 8 AM, even on Sunday. So, I requested to pick up the cake at 10:30 AM, on the Sunday of the day I needed the cake. She asked me a few details about the cake design, but I told her to be creative. I gave her the colors I wanted, and icing choice, but she could be creative with design. Per Megan, I know now that she doesn't prefer to not have a cake design concept from the customer (I can understand why, because without it, it can be a nightmare with some customers), but I trusted her expertise. I'm a creative person, so I know sometimes it can be confining to not allow an artist to let their creative juices just flow! I had feeling she would come up with something amazing, and SHE DID! Can I just say, she knocked it out of the park!?! The cake was gorgeous and delicious! My friend love, love, loved the cake! She's still talking about that cake and it's been a week! The folks at our event loved the cake too! It was so soft and moist (that is difficult to do with red velvet cake) and the icing tasted like a cream cheese, the macaroons were out of this world and overall it was incredible! I cannot wait to use this bakery for future events and/or special occasions! So, if you're looking for an incredible professional bakery, affordable, convenient and the baked goods are awesome, then go to Sweet and Savory! You will not be disappointed, and if you are, then you did something wrong or something's wrong with you because they are the BOMB.com! Thank you Sweet and Savory!

Frederick has long lacked a decent bakery with proper pastries and classic buttercream. When I discovered that S&S had opened a shop in Worman's Mills, just a minute up the road from 26, I decided it was worth a stop. True pastries are buttery, tender, not overly sweet, all the opposite of what we Americans have learned to consume. If you are looking for the type of disgustingly sweet food you find at that grocery store and you like American Buttercream, you may not enjoy the offerings. BUT, if you like buttery flaky croissants, perfectly whipped filling in your crispy profiteroles, and tender rolls, check out S&S. The shop is small, with limited offerings, but everything I tried was delicious. I'm so excited that there is now a place locally where I can purchase amazing treats when I am too busy to bake them myself. I hope word gets out and the business is able to expand because there is nothing of this quality anywhere else in town.

It's wonderful having such a merchant in the neighborhood. I have loved all of the items I bought. Especially the breads! Give it a try, you'll like it.

Light and fluffy chocolate croissants! That is all we tried on our first visit and we were satisfied. Won't be our last visit.

I have purchased many different items from Meghan and everything has been EXCELLENT. I'm one of those people who hates extremely sweet icing, so her European buttercream is perfect for me. We've purchased an array of treats to give to clients for the holidays, and they have all loved everything.

Do NOT use them, EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL

I had a cake made for my daughter's 100 day celebration and was very pleased with the results. Meghan was very professional and responsive to my emails and requests. It was a rather small and simple cake, but it was still done nicely and was very tasty (I had white chiffon cake with lemon buttercream frosting and a raspberry jelly filling). Since I live close to her, she even dropped it off to my house! You don't find customer service like that every day.

Do NOT use them, EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL This started as a pretty good experience and ended up extremely disappointing. My husband and my cake person fell thru at the last minute just a few weeks before our wedding. I contacted Meghan and told her the situation and she said she was available. But not available for a cake tasting since it was so close to the wedding and she usually does the cake tastings 2 weeks prior. So honestly, I thought, the pictures on her fb and website look beautiful. I'm sure they taste like cupcakes should. So we come to the event in time to do our decor for the reception and the cake is there all set up. From a distance it looks nice. But when I looked closer at the details I couldn't believe it. It looked like the icing was just thrown on with a quickly. Now there were a few that looked nice but shouldn't most if not all look nice if you're paying over $200 for it?? My husband doesn't care for regular cake so we got a cheesecake as the topper and then chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with raspberry and kahlua icing. Sounds great huh? Nope! The topper had no icing so it didnt even look like a wedding cake. And like I stated before, icing was thrown on. So I'm on the verge of tears at this point and wanted to email her then and there I was so mad and embarrassed that I had this to serve to my family. My husband said not to worry about it in the moment and to enjoy our time with the family. So I'm hoping that at least the cakes taste okay...well I have to say the cheesecake was very tasty. Very rich but most of them are...so no problems there. However later that day when we got home I tried one of the cupcakes just to see how they turned out. The icing was sooo gross and tasted like it had waaaaay too much butter in it. I have gotten cakes from Sam's club that tasted better than this. I had to spit it out. I emailed Meghan and told her I needed to talk to her about the cake and to let me know when we could set up a meeting. I get a very short curt email back. I'm available now feel free to give me a call....no "is everything okay"...nothing like that. I go on to explain to her our disappointment and she just turns it back on us that we should have had a tasting first to be sure we liked it but there was no time. And that she contacted where we had the reception and asked if ppl ate them and they said they had eaten them all. NOPE! I had about half left over that I took home. I didnt ask her for a penny cuz I thought well maybe she will do the right thing and own up to the fact that she may have over booked or something and at least give have of my $ back She was soooo unprofessional and nasty and not apologetic at all. I'm not asking for a free cake from her. But it was definitely not worth the $200 I spent on it.

I am sad to write such a review. We have had an appointment for a tasting scheduled by Megan herself for a month(it took a while for her to even schedule it) she emailed us five days ago saying she forgot to send an invoice for the small fee of $25. Since I was on vacation, my fiancé waited until I returned home to show me the invoice. We went to pay only to find out that she canceled the appointment! We said we still wanted to keep the appointment via email and would pay today and her response was "I have other people interested in that date. Hopefully you can find someone else to better suit your needs". Judgemental? Fast to conclude? Unprofressional? Disrespectful? Disorganized? Yes to all above. I'm happy her true colors came out before we did give her our business. The world needs kind and professional small businesses and this place is certainly not one.

Sweet & Savory was absolutely wonderful to work with! We had a brunch wedding with 80 guests so figured a tier to cut into and a few varieties of cupcakes would pair well with our theme (and nicely accompany our donut display). Meghan hit it out of the park from the private tasting, to communications leading up to the big day, and especially the set up, look, and taste of the cake/cupcakes. I highly recommend any couple to be using Sweet & Savory for their cake and desserts... one of the few places in the area that actually tastes as amazing as it looks!
