Ordered to-go early 9pm.The service was rude from the jump. From working in the food service industry I should’ve known to leave based on the first 30 second interaction plus the fact nobody else was there. But I proceeded to order for me and the family. The food was just really bad…it tasted straight-up old, like a couple of days...I’m talkin’…inedible.. every single ingredient/ condiment was bad…I only had a couple bites and got sick. I threw it away directly. Then my family didn’t eat because of what was found in my mother’s to-go box. One of the two line employees somehow managed to get a piece of chewed/ used gum slightly folded up in a receipt straight onto my mother’s quesadilla. The chewed-up gum was exposed to my mother’s food. That was a deliberate, negligent action with bad intentions. These things don’t just happen by accident. Not sure why the employee did what they did, but the fact is, you gotta be a downright low-life person to mess with someone’s food like that. One of the employees also mocked my name as I was picking up the order. Smh we are grown, why you acting like a fool? You do realize you just committed a criminal violation of food tampering.Y’all just need to do better, as basic individuals…cause your morals are out of touch.. And then work to do better as a team/for the sake of your job and the community. ?? I hope the branch manager doesn't ignore this concerning occurrence.

Oh man. I did not know about their veggie-vegan tacos. Hadn’t been to CT in a while. These are very good. I had the ‘chikn’ and the vegan bbq tacos. Both excellent. Will certainly my go back and have again.Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian eggless tacos and burritos etc

When I'm craving a taco salad, this is my go to place. Although taco salad is not on the menu anymore, you can still get one. Substitute tofu for the meat if you are a Vegetarian like me. The tofu is fried chunks and yummy with queso. Try queso instead of salad dressing.

I was not a huge fan of California Tortilla. I didn't find it any better than Chipotle or any of the other chain tortilla places.I was underwhelmed, & the service was just ok. What I did like was the vibe of the restaurant. It felt modern & fresh. Also, they did have a vegan option which was nice.Not a place I would recommend.

The food was good, there was a lot of greece on the tacos though. The service was very quick, got food within 4 minutes of ordering. It was very quite and relaxing in their, good ambiance.

This place has really gone down the drain in recent years. Service is almost non existent and their attitudes are even worse. We ordered a southwest salad and did not get corn or tortilla strips on a SOUTHWEST SALAD?? Say what? Nickel and dime the customers seems to be the name of the game these days and this place does that very well charging for every little thing including sour cream and salsa?? Not impressed as the food lacked the usual Tex-Mex flavors.

That is to say... the more 'financially flexible person's' Chi-Pot-El.The food here at this California tortilla is on par and consistently delicious with the other two CalTorts those specifically for me are OG Bethesda and Paramount/Gaithersburg.Which means you get high quality food at high quality food prices. Just saying... love this place."Nice legs, shame about the face."The Chips & Queso: Light & Crisp chips and salty queso like way to salty (and I am not a 'low sodium anything' type of person, Occasionally, I like to eat salt bagels, salted butter soft pretzels and salt vinegar chips dipped in yellow mustard). So I mix the queso with a can of HoreMel Chili (no beans) for a Fantastic Chili-Chese dip. I love this place, Just saying.One of the two advantages this Gaithersburg (QO & 28) establishment has over PARAMOUNT is the closing Time Monday through Saturday 10 p.m. Sunday 9 p.m. that's definitely a plus. The second is a dedicated restroom. That's another reason why I love this place.Kid-friendliness: Highchairs, coloring books, crayons available upon request.Parking: Plenty of free parking in front and around the side.Wheelchair accessibility: 2 handicap spaces almost in front and definitely wheelchair and handicap accessible because that's the way we citizens of Montgomery County make the laws here.
